Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a side-scrolling brawler built around the TV series, not a realistic karate simulator. Its strongest appeal is choosing between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do, switching among familiar characters, and taking on the campaign with a local co-op partner. A 2020 review praised the fan-service premise but found the combat and presentation uneven, so it is easiest to recommend to fans who want a straightforward beat-’em-up rather than especially polished fighting.

How the two dojo campaigns work
The game divides its story between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. Nintendo’s product listing says each dojo has its own campaign and that completing both reveals an ultimate ending. The listed Miyagi-Do characters are Daniel, Robby, Sam, and Demetri; Cobra Kai’s are Johnny, Miguel, Hawk, and Tory. Nintendo also advertises character-swapping, 40 skills, and 28 missions. These are publisher-provided features, not an independent assessment of how well each character or mission plays.
The story runs alongside season two of the show, according to Meristation’s November 2020 review. Nintendo says William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, and other cast members voice characters. The official product details are on the Nintendo US listing and Nintendo UK listing.

Is there co-op, and can you play online?
Local co-op is documented on console storefronts: Nintendo lists Switch play on one system for one or two players, while the US PlayStation Store lists offline play and one to two players. Meristation’s November 2020 review also describes two-player local co-op and says online multiplayer was absent at that time. The reviewed evidence supports couch co-op, not online co-op; check the current listing for your edition before buying if online play is essential.

How long is the campaign?
Meristation estimated eight to ten hours to finish the campaign by playing both dojo paths. That is one reviewer’s estimate from 2020, not a guaranteed completion time; play style and time spent on progression can change how long a run takes. The same review describes the unlockable attacks and skills as RPG-like progression.
What do reviews say about the combat and presentation?
Meristation liked the fan-service premise but reported problems with hit detection, tight positioning for contextual actions, stiff animation, and a less convincing visual presentation. Those are that reviewer’s observations, not the results of new hands-on testing. Taken together, they point to a game whose character-switching and recognizable cast may carry more appeal for fans than its moment-to-moment polish.

Store ratings offer a separate, changing signal rather than a critic consensus. At a 2026 access snapshot, Steam showed 83% positive from 420 user reviews, while the US PlayStation Store showed 4.12 out of 5 from 816 ratings. Who should play it?
- Best fit: Cobra Kai fans looking for a straightforward brawler, a two-dojo story, and the option to play locally with another person.
- Less suitable: Players prioritizing online co-op or exceptionally precise, polished combat, given the review-era absence of online multiplayer and Meristation’s combat criticisms.
- For a physical Switch copy: A UK game-card edition is documented, but regional availability and current stock need checking.
