How big was the Black Ops 6 Season 1 update?
A contemporaneous MP1st report listed these download sizes:

These are reported figures from a secondary outlet, not an official Activision platform-by-platform size table. The available official Season 1 overview gives the launch timing and content, but does not publish those download sizes.
Why might the download on your console differ?
Activision says delivery arrangements and download requirements can vary by platform and by which Call of Duty content is already installed. That means a player’s actual update may not match either reported figure. The 40 GB number should not be treated as a universal Black Ops 6 update size.

Activision scheduled Black Ops 6 Season 1 to go live on November 14, 2024, at 9 AM PT. In an earlier roadmap, Call of Duty Staff wrote: “We will follow up with the associated download sizes for this update and more details around the new user interface before it goes live in October.” That August 15, 2024 statement referred to a planned October milestone; it is not an official confirmation that the Season 1 update was 40 GB.

Activision’s current installation guide covers PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net, Steam, and Microsoft Store, and describes Black Ops 6 as a standalone title across platforms. It is useful for installation guidance, but it should not be read as a retrospective account of the exact 2024 Season 1 patch process or as confirmation of the reported sizes.
