Unlock the four Black Ops 6 Zombies Mastery Camos in order: Mystic Gold, Opal, Afterlife, then Nebula. For each weapon, first complete its nine Military Camos and two Special Camos; then meet the mastery challenge and weapon-group prerequisites shown for that tier. Exact kill counts and requirements can vary by weapon, so use the in-game Camo Hub rather than assuming one number applies to every gun.
How the Zombies camo progression works
Camo progress is tracked separately for each weapon. Activision says weapon leveling is not required to start unlocking camos, and a mastery camo earned on one weapon does not automatically unlock it for another.

Each weapon’s path has three categories: nine Military Camos, two Special Camos, and four Mastery Camos. In Zombies, Military Camos generally progress through Critical Kills, but some weapon types can have different criteria. Special Camo challenges are weapon-specific; once unlocked, a Special Camo is universal for eligible weapons whose Special category is available.
Activision describes the system as accessible without leveling: “Unlocking Weapon Camos in Black Ops 6 is accessible from the moment you get your hands on a weapon; no Weapon Leveling required.”

Before you start a weapon’s Mastery Camos
- Complete its nine Military Camos. Follow the displayed Zombies challenge, which commonly involves Critical Kills. Check the individual weapon’s requirement rather than treating that criterion as universal.
- Complete its two Special Camos. Their challenges are specific to the weapon and can be completed in either order after the Special category becomes available.
- Open the Camo Hub and check the mastery challenge. The exact challenge text and threshold are weapon-specific; the tracker also shows progress by weapon and challenge.

Activision’s announced sequence is Mystic Gold, Opal, Afterlife, and Nebula. The gates expand from an individual weapon to designated weapons in a class or across relevant weapon groups; they are not simply four challenges you can complete on one gun in isolation.

Go to Weapons → Loadouts → Gunsmith → Cosmetics/Camo Hub, select the weapon and inspect its camo challenge. The in-game tracker is the best place to confirm the current requirement and see whether progress is being credited. Activision’s launch guide describes tracking challenge progress by weapon and class.

Official material available for this guide establishes the progression framework but does not provide a complete current table of Zombies challenge counts for every weapon. A number shown for one gun should not be treated as the requirement for another. Nor should Multiplayer example counts be substituted: those are for a different mode and do not establish Zombies thresholds.

How to plan the grind without losing track
- Finish the base categories before targeting Mystic Gold. The first mastery tier depends on that weapon’s Military and Special Camos.
- Track prerequisites by tier and weapon group. Opal, Afterlife, and Nebula require mastery progress on designated groups of weapons, not merely progress on the weapon currently equipped.
- Read the challenge before starting a session. Confirm its exact target and threshold in the Camo Hub, especially when switching weapon types.
- Use the tracker to verify credit. If a challenge is not advancing as expected, recheck the selected weapon and the displayed criteria; do not assume a general Critical Kill rule applies to every weapon.
