Yes. Feather Client says you can add your own Forge mods through its launcher, then manage and toggle them. That does not guarantee that every Forge mod—or every Minecraft version—will work. Check the mod’s requirements against the Feather profile you plan to use.
What Feather supports
Feather’s official features page says users can add Forge or Fabric mods directly to the launcher and manage or toggle them. It describes a general feature, not support for every third-party mod or a list of compatible Minecraft versions.
Check compatibility before adding a mod
- Loader: The mod must be made for Forge, not just Fabric or another loader.
- Minecraft version: Its supported game version must match the version used by your Feather profile.
- Profile and dependencies: Follow the mod’s own requirements and make sure it is enabled in the profile you launch. A mod may still fail if it requires other mods or a particular setup.
For example, a Forge mod listed for one Minecraft version should not be assumed to work in a Feather profile running a different version. Check the mod’s current listing rather than relying on the fact that Feather supports user-added Forge mods.
How to add a Forge mod in Feather
Feather’s public feature page does not provide a version-by-version walkthrough or specify exact menu labels. Use the current mod manager in your Feather launcher:
#1 Best Overall
- Open the Feather profile you intend to play and check its Minecraft version.
- Use the launcher’s mod manager to add the Forge mod, following the current interface’s instructions.
- Confirm that the mod appears in the manager and is enabled, then launch that same profile.
- If it does not load, check the mod’s Minecraft version, loader, and dependency requirements before trying again.
If Feather does not recognize or launch the mod
Feather’s general feature statement does not establish that every mod or Forge setup is supported. If its mod manager does not recognize the file or the profile will not launch, consult the mod’s own instructions and the official Forge documentation. The MinecraftForge project repository also provides Forge project information and installation instructions for launcher environments.
Forge is a free, open-source modding API, according to the MinecraftForge project. Using Forge does not by itself make a mod compatible with Feather: the mod and the profile still need to match.
