Not reliably across every ARC Raiders friend list. Steam’s Invisible setting and PlayStation’s Appear Offline setting change your status on those platforms, but neither guarantees that you will look offline to everyone through ARC Raiders’ cross-platform social system. The game’s Matchmaking Privacy option is separate: it makes matchmaking harder to track while streaming; it is not documented as an appear-offline setting.
What “appear offline” means in ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders has an in-game Social system for Embark ID friends, parties and recent-player invitations, and supports crossplay among Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A platform presence setting controls your status on that platform; the official guidance does not establish that it hides you from every friend or connection inside the game. Embark’s ARC Raiders support information describes the game’s social features and crossplay.
Player reports about whether Steam Invisible carries through to ARC Raiders conflict: some say it hides them from Steam friends, while others report that cross-platform or Embark ID friends can still see them. These are individual experiences, not a dependable rule. If being unseen matters, check with a trusted friend using the same kind of connection you want to hide from.

How to set your platform status
Steam: choose Invisible, not Offline
- Open Friends & Chat in Steam.
- Open your status menu and select Invisible.
Invisible is the platform option that lets you appear offline while keeping Steam community functions. Use Offline only if you also want to sign out of the Steam community and accept the loss of Steam features that depend on being online. Neither option is an official guarantee of ARC Raiders invisibility.
PlayStation 5: choose Appear Offline
- Open your profile.
- Select Online Status.
- Choose Appear Offline.
This changes your PlayStation online status. Sony’s warning still applies: other players may see you online within a game, and invitations to online games or voice chat may still reach you.

Matchmaking Privacy is for reducing tracking
To make your matchmaking less predictable while streaming, open Settings → General → Streaming and turn on Matchmaking Privacy before searching for a round. Embark describes the feature as adding a randomized matchmaking delay and changing the server information shown on screen to make tracking harder. In a party, the leader’s setting applies to everyone. It does not claim to hide your presence from friends.

- Decline or avoid party invitations, and do not join friends when you want to play alone.
- Manage your friends or invitation settings on the relevant platform where available.
- If you need to know whether a particular friend can see you, test with someone you trust; visibility reports differ across friend sources and platforms.
ARC Raiders is online and multiplayer-only, although you can go topside solo. Playing solo therefore does not mean playing offline.
