Wizard101 has a Hidden to Friends setting intended to keep people on your friends list from seeing you as online. The menu route documented in older guides may have changed, so look for that setting in your current client rather than relying on the exact path.
How to hide your online status in Wizard101
A Wizard101 forum guide from October 2014 gives this route for the computer client:

- Open the Wizard Book.
- Choose Options.
- Open Advanced Gameplay Options.
- Set Hidden to Friends to YES.
The 2014 forum guide is old, so the labels or menu location may differ in the current game. Follow the setting name if you find it elsewhere.
What “Hidden to Friends” does
Wizard101 administrator Professor Greyrose wrote in a 2013 forum reply that enabling the option means “your friends panel will not be accessible and you will not appear as being online to your friends.” That explanation supports hiding your online status from friends, but it does not establish complete invisibility or cover every way someone might notice your presence.

The cited guidance describes hiding from friends generally; it does not document a way to hide from only selected friends. It also does not confirm how the setting works in the current client or on console.

Switch Hidden to Friends off. Older forum guidance says to set it to Off; another guide says opening the Friends List unhides you. Because those instructions differ, use the setting toggle rather than assuming that opening the list will make you visible.
