If you’re using a standard Sony DUALSHOCK 4, PlayStation’s documented first step for controller problems is to reset it, then reconnect it to the PS4. The official guidance reviewed here does not describe an analog-stick calibration menu for the standard controller. A reset can help with unexpected behavior or pairing trouble, but it is not a guaranteed fix for worn or damaged sticks.
Does a standard PS4 controller have a calibration menu?
PlayStation’s reviewed support guidance documents controller reset, pairing and selected settings, but does not establish a calibration menu for the standard DUALSHOCK 4. The available settings route is Settings > Devices > Controllers; PlayStation identifies this area for controller settings such as vibration, not analog-stick calibration or dead-zone adjustment. That means there is no supported stock-controller calibration sequence to follow based on those sources. Resetting is a troubleshooting step, not recalibration: it does not promise to correct physical wear, damage or persistent stick drift.
Reset and reconnect a DUALSHOCK 4
Use this procedure for a standard DUALSHOCK 4. PlayStation says resetting is often the first troubleshooting step for controller issues.

- Turn off the PS4 and unplug it from power.
- Disconnect the controller from the USB cable.
- On the back of the controller, find the small recessed reset button. Use a small, unfolded paper clip or similar item to press and hold it for at least five seconds.
- Reconnect the controller to the PS4 with a USB cable.
- Press the PS button to pair the controller with the console.

If stick drift or a button fault continues
If the controller still has an analog-stick or button problem after reset, use PlayStation Repairs to find the applicable support route. PlayStation lists button or analog-stick issues among its problem categories and directs users to repair help if resetting does not resolve the fault.

Replacement is another option if troubleshooting and repair are unsuitable or do not resolve the problem. The available guidance does not establish that every drift issue is fixable by resetting, or that every malfunction requires a new controller.

Calibration instructions depend on the controller model. PowerA publishes a calibration procedure for its FUSION Pro controller for PS4. That procedure is for the PowerA model, not the standard Sony DUALSHOCK 4; do not transfer its button sequence to a stock Sony controller.
