You can sell cards through TCGplayer’s Marketplace Seller program by entering your own inventory and prices. That means listing cards on TCGplayer’s marketplace—not selling them to TCGplayer as a buylist. The route is separate from TCGplayer Direct, which has additional eligibility requirements.
How to start selling on TCGplayer
TCGplayer’s seller-start instructions describe U.S. onboarding. The steps are:
- Log in to your TCGplayer account or create one.
- Complete the seller registration and verify your email using the link TCGplayer sends.
- After approval, open the Seller Dashboard to add inventory and prices.
TCGplayer says it reviews new seller applications before an account can go live. Its seller-start page changelog notes a July 2026 update about paused seller registration, but the displayed instructions do not establish whether registration is currently open or how long any pause will last. Check the current registration flow or contact TCGplayer support before planning around immediate enrollment: TCGplayer seller-start instructions.
The page describes U.S. onboarding and a limited Canadian pilot for brick-and-mortar stores or sellers with a large online marketplace presence. It does not establish that the same seller route is available in every country.

What you need to register and get paid
For an individual registration, TCGplayer asks for your full name, address and country of residence, phone number, and date of birth. A business registrant needs its legal business name, any DBA name, and business address; the address must be a physical location, not a PO Box. TCGplayer may request additional documents.
To receive payouts, link a checking account. Its name and account type must match the personal or business registration. TCGplayer also requires sellers to complete a digital W-9 before it issues payment. See the seller registration guide and the New Seller FAQ.

What listing and shipping involve
Marketplace sellers enter their inventory and prices directly; TCGplayer says listings can appear as items and prices are entered. Basic Marketplace listing has no setup or listing fee, but fees apply when an item sells. TCGplayer also offers Pro Seller options for listing on the marketplace and a seller’s own website, as well as inventory synchronization through third-party providers. Those are distinct arrangements, not prerequisites for manually listing cards. Details are on TCGplayer’s listing page.
Some cards require photos: Listings With Photos are required for non-English, graded, and signed cards. Bulk lots can also be listed with seller-supplied photos, and the description must accurately say what the lot contains. TCGplayer’s New Seller FAQ explains these listing requirements.

You must have each listed item in your possession, describe it accurately, and ship it by the ship date TCGplayer provides while following its shipping guidelines. The Marketplace Seller Agreement prohibits listing items you do not possess and dropshipping: Marketplace Seller Agreement.
How much TCGplayer charges sellers
Fees depend on the seller program and account tier. For Level 1–4 Marketplace Sellers, TCGplayer’s fee page lists a commission of 10.75% of the order subtotal, capped at $75 per product sold, plus a transaction fee of 2.5% of the order total (items, shipping, and tax) and $0.30. The commission and transaction fee use different bases, so do not treat them as one percentage of the same total. Pro, Direct, and third-party sync arrangements have separate fee rows and may have additional charges.

The basic Marketplace Seller route is for listing your own inventory and is distinct from Direct. The materials describe seller registration and individual identity details, as well as business registration details; they do not state that a seller must own a storefront or meet Direct’s volume thresholds to use the basic route. Whether a new seller can enroll immediately depends on the current registration flow and application review.

For a small collection, manual listing may be a straightforward way to add cards and prices. Sellers with larger or frequently changing inventories can consider the separate inventory-sync options TCGplayer describes. In either case, account-specific fees and the time required to list, package, and ship orders affect how much work and money selling will involve.
TCGplayer Direct is a separate, higher-threshold program
You do not need to qualify for TCGplayer Direct to list through the ordinary Marketplace Seller route. Direct is a later-stage option. TCGplayer’s New Seller FAQ lists these application criteria:
- Level 4 seller status.
- A 99.5% feedback rating over the previous 30 days.
- Approximately 3,000 Direct-eligible cards.
- 100 sales per month, averaging $600 per week.
TCGplayer says Direct applications are reviewed, and the Direct Seller Agreement also describes Level 4, feedback, inventory, and sales thresholds. These figures are program criteria, not a requirement for every marketplace seller. See the New Seller FAQ and the Direct Seller Agreement.
