Yes. You can send Minecraft as an email gift through Minecraft.net or, for the PC edition, through Microsoft Store. You can also give a prepaid card or code. The right choice depends on the recipient’s device and edition: a PC gift code is not a universal license for console or mobile versions.
Gift Minecraft by email through Minecraft.net
- Open the Minecraft.net shop and select the game you want to gift.
- Choose “Purchase as a gift.” Sign in to a Microsoft account if prompted.
- Enter the recipient’s email address and your sender name, then complete checkout.
- Review the confirmation screen and select “Buy as Gift” to finish the process.
Minecraft’s official email gift instructions describe this flow. Check that the product is appropriate for the recipient’s device before purchasing.

Gift the PC edition through Microsoft Store
Minecraft also documents a gift flow in Microsoft Store for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC.
- Find the PC edition in Microsoft Store and sign in.
- Choose the edition, select the gift icon, and enter the recipient’s email address and your sender name.
- Complete payment. You can track the order from your Microsoft account’s billing orders page.

Choose a gift that matches the recipient’s device
On PC, Java and Bedrock are sold together in the Java & Bedrock bundle. Minecraft lists Java for Windows, Mac, and Linux through Minecraft.net. Bedrock is sold through separate stores on mobile and other devices. The email gift instructions cover Minecraft.net and Microsoft Store purchases, not a single code that works everywhere.

Give a prepaid card or game code
A physical card or prepaid code can work well as a gift, especially if you want the recipient to redeem it themselves. Minecraft’s redemption page describes redeeming a 25-character code for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, including codes found on a card or printed on a store receipt.
- Check the card or listing for the edition and region, and make sure it suits the recipient’s device.
- Have the recipient sign in with an active Microsoft account and enter the code on Minecraft’s redemption page.
- Review and confirm the content shown before completing redemption.
Codes can be redeemed only once. Some region-specific or older Java-only codes have restrictions; Minecraft says Java-only gift cards bought before December 1, 2020 require help from Minecraft Player Care.

Buying Minecraft for a child
Minecraft Help says a parent can buy the game as a Microsoft Store gift and send a gift code to the email address associated with the child account. The child follows the emailed redemption instructions and downloads the game. See the official guide for buying Minecraft for a child account.

Not directly, according to Minecraft’s Marketplace FAQ. Its suggested alternative is a gift voucher for the platform store the recipient uses; the recipient can redeem that credit and use it toward coins. That is platform-store credit, not a direct Minecoins gift, and it may not suit every device or store.

Minecraft describes Minecoins as virtual currency for Marketplace content. Purchased Minecoins appear in the Marketplace when the player signs in to Bedrock with the same account used to buy them.
