College Football 25’s first major title update went live for all players on August 8, 2024. EA added eight shotgun formations across 35 teams, new uniform pieces for 15 schools, and changes to gameplay, Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team and Road to CFP. These are the contents of that historical update—not a description of the game’s latest patch or a guarantee that every change remains the same today.
Which new formations did the update add?
EA reported eight new shotgun formations, distributed among 35 teams. The notes name the formations and give examples of teams receiving some of them; they do not say that every formation went to all 35 teams.

The named schools are examples from the team-by-team notes, not a complete allocation list. EA’s August 8, 2024 update notes contain the full update announcement.
What gameplay changes were included?
The update also adjusted gameplay systems rather than focusing only on playbooks and appearance. EA listed changes to pursuit-angle logic, trailing defenders’ broken-tackle behavior, player stamina, quarterback scrambling, option plays, pass protection and the rewards for man coverage, along with other fixes and tuning.

These are change-log descriptions, not independent measurements of how much gameplay improved. EA’s notes do not provide performance statistics or establish how each adjustment affected every situation.
Which uniform pieces were added or adjusted?
EA named 15 schools receiving new uniform pieces. It also separately listed 2024-season uniform adjustments for four schools and mentioned additional uniform-authenticity improvements without specifying every affected item.

Baylor appears in both categories because EA listed it among schools with new pieces and also among schools with 2024-season adjustments. The notes do not specify the individual pieces or describe the unspecified authenticity improvements in further detail.
Which Dynasty changes require a new save?
EA explicitly said that a newly created Dynasty is needed for three categories of changes to take effect. This restart requirement is limited to the listed items; the notes do not say that every Dynasty change in the update requires starting over.

If you want those specific changes in a Dynasty, start a new one. EA’s notes do not state that the same restart condition applies to changes outside these categories.
What changed in Road to Glory and the other modes?
Road to Glory received an additional scenario, NIL content and fixes. Ultimate Team and Road to CFP also received various changes. For Road to CFP, EA described a restructuring from three tiers to five; the notes do not detail every change to those modes in the update announcement.

When did the update arrive, and which platforms were supported?
EA said the August 8, 2024 update went live for all users that day. College Football 25 launched for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to EA’s launch announcement. The update notes do not provide a current patch-status summary, so this account should be read as a record of the August 2024 changes rather than a statement about later updates.
