All three editions of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls include the base game. Digital Deluxe adds the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass plus two lobby items; Ultimate adds five costumes and an animated color unlock for the launch roster. The best choice depends on whether you want the planned DLC, the cosmetics, or both—and on the current price in your region.

Is Ultimate worth it over Digital Deluxe?
Ultimate’s additional content over Digital Deluxe is cosmetic: five costumes and the animated Chromatic color unlock for the 20 launch characters. It does not add a gameplay advantage. Its costumes are Captain America (Classic), Iron Man (Classic), Storm (Punk Rock), Doctor Doom (Supreme Ruler), and Spider-Man (Advanced Suit 2.0); the Spider-Man look is based on the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The announcement says these costumes are available until August 5, 2027. Some bonuses require an account and internet access to redeem, and some unlocks may require game progression. See the PlayStation announcement for those details.
At the time of the US PlayStation storefront snapshot checked October 7, 2026, Digital Deluxe and Ultimate were both displayed at $84.99, with Ultimate discounted from $99.99 through October 22, 2026, at 06:59 UTC. During that offer, Ultimate costs the same as Digital Deluxe on that US page and includes the extra cosmetics. The offer is time-limited and storefront prices can change, so check your local store before buying; the displayed US offer does not establish prices elsewhere. The US PlayStation game page shows the storefront offer.

What does the Year 1 pass add?
The Year 1 Character and Stage Pass covers four additional playable characters, one additional stage, and a set of result-screen poses for the 20-character base roster. Phoenix Cyclops was announced as the first additional Year 1 character. The official sources cited here do not establish the release status of the remaining pass content, so buying the pass should be understood as buying the bundle entitlement—not as receiving every item immediately.
The US PlayStation Store listed the pass separately for $34.99 in the checked snapshot; this is a volatile US storefront price, not a fixed international price. Compare it with the difference between editions in your store if you are deciding between Standard plus the pass and Digital Deluxe. The US Store listing describes the pass, and the July 23, 2026 PlayStation.Blog announcement identifies Phoenix Cyclops as its first character. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka also described broader post-launch updates as planned; that statement did not give a delivery timetable.

Can you upgrade from a physical Standard Edition?
Yes. The official FAQ says owners of the physical PS5 Standard Edition can buy a Digital Deluxe or Ultimate upgrade through PlayStation Store and download the bonus content. It also says Standard and Digital Deluxe owners can upgrade to Ultimate. The exact add-on availability and price may change by region and date: in the US product-page snapshot, Standard-to-Ultimate was displayed at $40.00 and the Deluxe-to-Ultimate upgrade was unavailable. Treat those as snapshot values, not guaranteed current upgrade options. Check the add-ons for your account and region before relying on an upgrade path.
