Cities: Skylines II’s first expansion, Bridges & Ports, launched for PC on October 29, 2025. The separately announced bicycle update arrived as the free Bike Patch on November 19, 2025, adding bicycles, electric scooters and cycling infrastructure for base-game owners.
When did Bridges & Ports release?
Paradox Interactive announced Bridges & Ports on September 29, 2025, saying the expansion was in a good place but that a release date had not yet been set. The publisher announced October 29 as the release date on October 9; the expansion became available for PC that day. The original announcement is available in Paradox’s development diary, and the launch details are in its release announcement.
What the paid expansion adds
Bridges & Ports focuses on shorelines and maritime gameplay. Paradox lists drawbridges and lift bridges, customizable harbors, passenger ferries, maritime industries, maps and other additions among its features. The expansion is paid DLC unless it is already included with an edition or pass the player owns.
At launch, Paradox listed a suggested price of $19.99, £16.99 or €19.99 and said owners of Cities: Skylines II Ultimate Edition or the Waterfronts Expansion Pass could download it at no additional cost. Those are launch-era prices and eligibility details; current prices and availability may vary by market and retailer.

Was the bicycle update free?
Yes. Paradox originally described bicycles as part of a future free update for owners of the base game, separate from the paid expansion. That update arrived as Bike Patch 1.4.2f1 on November 19, 2025. The publisher’s patch announcement lists the additions.
What Bike Patch added
- Bicycles and electric scooters used by teens, adults and seniors.
- Bicycle lanes, paths and parking.
- A bicycle information view and district policies to influence cycling.
- Bicycle-related chirps, alongside other additions including service and public-transport buildings, parks and Old Town-style residential assets.
In a developer diary published November 18, Paradox described cycling in the game as “a pollution-free transport option that is faster than walking.” The diary explains that players can shape cycling through infrastructure and policy; it does not provide a real-world performance comparison between lanes, paths and parking.
