No. In Minecraft Bedrock, a village does not guarantee that a stronghold is underneath it. Strongholds can be under or near villages, but the village itself is not a dependable way to locate one. For a particular world, use Eyes of Ender to track the nearest stronghold.
Why do players associate strongholds with villages?
The belief has a historical basis. In a 2016 TIME interview, Minecraft developer Jens Bergensten explained that Pocket Edition strongholds were deliberately placed beneath villages because players at the time lacked the Nether and Eyes of Ender to find them. He said: “So what we did then was to make sure that the Stronghold was always generated beneath a village. So if you saw a village, that was a hint that there may have been a Stronghold nearby.” That statement describes the older Pocket Edition design, not a rule for every current Bedrock world.
What changed in Bedrock?
The Bedrock 1.10.0 version-history note records that most strongholds stopped generating under village wells and instead generated under village meeting points. It also records a reduced chance of strongholds generating under villages. Wells and meeting points are different generation anchors, and the change does not mean that every village has a stronghold.
The note does not give a current percentage for how many Bedrock strongholds are associated with villages, so there is no reliable exact rate to apply to a world.

Can you find a stronghold by digging under a village?
You can try, but it is not a reliable search method: a village may have no stronghold beneath it, and the older well-based clue is not interchangeable with the later meeting-point placement. A Bedrock speedrunning guide describes a narrower pattern of three village-associated strongholds, usually among the closest strongholds; it also notes that they may be farther from the origin when nearby biomes do not allow villages. This is a specialist speedrunning observation, not a guarantee about all strongholds in all worlds.
How to locate the nearest stronghold in your world

Craft or obtain an Eye of Ender.

Use it in the Overworld. According to Minecraft’s official stronghold guide, the Eye flies in the direction of the nearest stronghold.

Follow its direction and use it again as needed to narrow down the location. When it points down, dig carefully to find the structure rather than assuming a nearby village marks the spot.
The same official guide says Bedrock strongholds are randomly distributed through the Overworld and at least 160 blocks from the original spawn point. That distance is not a measure of how often strongholds appear under villages.

Why do player reports differ?
Reports can describe different editions, chunk-generation versions, or goals. The older Pocket Edition behavior was deliberately village-linked; Bedrock 1.10.0 changed most placements from village wells to meeting points and reduced the village association. Meanwhile, a speedrunning route may focus on a recurring near-origin pattern rather than every stronghold in a world. Those distinctions explain why one player’s village may lead to a stronghold while another player’s does not.
