Treat it as untrustworthy—especially if it asks for your Epic password, a survey, a download, or other account details. Epic’s guidance warns about these offers; it does not mean every site using the word “generator” has been individually audited.
Why a V-Bucks generator is not a legitimate offer
Epic says real offers appear through the Epic Games Store, official Epic websites, or verified Epic social channels. Its Fortnite Code of Conduct states: “Epic never offers free V-Bucks through third parties.” A site claiming it can create or add free V-Bucks is therefore not an Epic-authorized route.

Epic also says it does not partner with third-party V-Bucks sellers. An unofficial listing may take your money without delivering V-Bucks, and sharing account details may put your account at risk. Epic does not provide refunds or V-Bucks for purchases from unauthorized sellers. These are the specific risks Epic identifies; they do not establish that every generator site installs malware or causes an account ban.
How to get V-Bucks or free Fortnite items safely
If you want to buy V-Bucks
Epic lists in-game purchases, the Epic Games Store, the Fortnite Item Shop, and official V-Bucks cards from authorized retailers as purchase routes. Confirm that a card seller is authorized; a marketplace listing is not automatically legitimate just because it advertises a Fortnite card. Epic’s guidance does not compare prices or availability by country.

If you want something free
Free items are different from generated V-Bucks. Epic points to in-game challenges and free Battle Pass content as ways to earn free items; some free items may also be offered for securing an account with 2FA. Many are seasonal and only available during the relevant season. None of these methods turns an external generator into a valid source of V-Bucks.
What to do if you used a generator site
- If you entered your Epic password, change it on Epic’s official site. Do not use a link supplied by the generator. Change the password on any other account where you reused it, too.
- Secure the email address linked to your Epic account. Use a unique password for that email and review its security if you suspect someone else may have access.
- Turn on two-factor authentication. Epic recommends 2FA and identifies authenticator apps as its strongest 2FA option.
- Check Epic’s account-recovery guidance if you can no longer sign in or notice that account details have changed.
Epic says it will ask for your password only on official Epic login pages. Its account-security guidance also recommends unique passwords; a password manager is optional, not a requirement.
