Do Fortnite V-Bucks cards expire?
No. Epic’s V-Bucks card redemption page states: “There are no fees or expiration dates associated with the use of a gift card.” In context, the statement appears on Epic’s V-Bucks card page and applies to using a V-Bucks card.

Is a V-Bucks card the same as a Fortnite Gift Card?
No. Epic says Fortnite Gift Cards are replacing V-Bucks cards, but the products work differently. Older V-Bucks cards may still be available at retailers in some regions while the rollout continues.
| Card | What it adds | What it can fund | Expiration information |
|---|---|---|---|
| V-Bucks card | A stated amount of V-Bucks | V-Bucks only | Epic says there are no expiration dates associated with its use. |
| Fortnite Gift Card | Funds to an Epic account balance | V-Bucks and other eligible Epic purchases | Epic’s terms say non-promotional balances do not expire; promotional gift cards may expire and may have additional terms. |
Epic’s V-Bucks card FAQ lists possible availability at major retailers in the United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Availability depends on retailer and region.

- Redemption: Online
How to redeem a V-Bucks card
- Sign in to the Epic account where you want the V-Bucks credited.
- Open Epic’s V-Bucks Card redemption flow and enter the card PIN.
- Select the intended platform, then review the displayed account, device, and balance.
- Confirm the redemption only after checking those details. Keep the retailer receipt until redemption is complete; Epic Support may ask for it if there is a problem.
What if the card says it is inactive?
Contact the retailer where you bought it. Epic says it cannot activate an inactive card. An activation error is different from an expiration problem, and Epic’s V-Bucks card page says the card has no expiration date.
Check region and platform before confirming
Some cards are region-locked and may require a matching Epic or platform account region. V-Bucks balance sharing also varies by platform, with separate limitations for Nintendo. Check the account, region, and platform shown during redemption so the balance goes where you intend.

Other terms to keep in mind
Epic’s V-Bucks Card terms say purchases are final unless otherwise indicated, an Epic account is required, and the user bears the risk of loss after redeeming the card or retrieving its code. Those terms also reserve Epic’s ability to modify, suspend, or discontinue Fortnite or V-Bucks. These service-related terms are separate from the page’s statement that V-Bucks cards have no expiration date.
