The latest reviewed update, Season 10.5, is scheduled to begin October 9, 2026 UTC, but its announcement does not name Doom as a playable hero or give a date for his arrival.
What the latest official update says
The Season 10.5 patch notes, published October 6, 2026, describe the upcoming Path to Doomsday mode, stories, store additions and season event. They schedule the update to begin October 9, 2026 UTC, but do not announce Doctor Doom as a playable character or provide a release date.
That is the latest relevant official patch announcement reviewed here, not proof that no announcement exists anywhere. Because release plans can change, the answer may become outdated when Marvel Rivals posts a new update.
Why Doctor Doom is associated with the game
Marvel’s launch-era description connected Season 0, “Dooms’ Rise,” to chaos caused by Doctor Doom’s time experiments. That is story framing, not a commitment to make Doom playable. The launch-era announcement discussed heroes revealed for the launch roster; it did not identify Doom as one of them.

What the recent hero announcements confirm
Recent patch notes identify other heroes, but do not set a timetable for Doom:
| Update | Officially identified new hero | Timing stated in the notes |
|---|---|---|
| Season 9.5 | The Hood | Began August 7, 2026 UTC |
| Season 9 | Jubilee | Began July 10, 2026 UTC |
The August 5, 2026 Season 9.5 developer diary promotes a villain reveal and roadmap features, but gives no Doctor Doom playable release date.

How to judge claims about Doom’s arrival
A story reference, teaser, roadmap mention, leak or fan prediction is not the same as a confirmed playable release date. To answer when Doom is coming, look for an official Marvel Rivals announcement that explicitly identifies Doctor Doom as a playable hero and states when he will be available. Until then, any specific season or date should be treated as unconfirmed.
