What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Yes. Lunar Client supports custom texture packs, which Minecraft now calls resource packs. Put a pack in the resource-pack folder, then enable it from Minecraft’s Resource Packs screen. Lunar Client’s stated exception is x-ray texture packs, which it will not allow to load.
How to install a resource pack in Lunar Client
- Launch the Minecraft version you want to play through the Lunar Client Launcher.
- In Minecraft, open Settings, then Resource Packs.
- Select the button to open the resource-pack folder. You can also access the
resourcepacksfolder inside.minecraftwithout launching the game. - Move the downloaded pack into that folder. Lunar Client’s FAQ says it can be a
.zipfile or an uncompressed folder. - Return to Minecraft’s Resource Packs screen, select the pack, and click Done to apply it.
Lunar Client’s official FAQ describes the compatibility and setup process. It also recommends resourcepacks.gg as a place to explore free resource packs for Minecraft: Java Edition.
Which packs are allowed?
Lunar Client’s FAQ states: “Any texture pack is compatible with Lunar Client and can be enabled ingame like you normally would. However, Lunar Client will not allow you to load “xray texture packs”.” In other words, ordinary resource packs are supported, but x-ray packs are blocked.
Pack Organizer, Pack Display, and shaders
Lunar Client offers optional Pack Organizer and Pack Display features. Pack Organizer lets you arrange packs into folders, while Pack Display can show the selected pack’s name on the HUD. Neither feature is needed to install or use a pack.
