Which Halo Infinite modes support split-screen?
Halo Support says local split-screen is available exclusively on Xbox consoles and applies only to competitive multiplayer. It does not apply to Campaign. Halo Support’s local-play instructions distinguish split-screen from Local Offline and LAN play: LAN means playing over the same local network, not Campaign split-screen.
How many players can use split-screen?
The supported player count depends on the Xbox generation and mode, according to Halo Support’s multiplayer instructions and Halo Waypoint’s playlist information.

Four players are not supported in every Series X|S matchmaking mode: Big Team Battle has a two-player limit. Check the mode you plan to play before organizing a larger local group.

Can you play Halo Infinite Campaign in local co-op?
No. Two people cannot play the Campaign together on one console using split-screen. The local split-screen feature is restricted to competitive multiplayer. Halo Waypoint describes Campaign Co-Op as network play for up to four Fireteam members; that is different from local co-op on a shared screen. Halo Waypoint’s Campaign Co-Op information covers the network option.
Halo Support describes the Campaign story as single-player, while its multiplayer documentation sets out the separate local split-screen feature. The official pages establish the current feature distinction; they do not establish a specific date when work on local Campaign co-op was cancelled.

What if four-player split-screen has a problem?
Halo Support lists two known issues for four-player split-screen. They are documented possibilities, not problems every group will encounter. Halo Support’s multiplayer page describes them as follows:
- If one player leaves the fireteam and the remaining players join a match already in progress, one of those players may be unable to play normally.
- If a player signs out of their Xbox Live account and signs back in, that player may be unable to rejoin a Custom Games or matchmaking fireteam.
Do you need to buy Halo Infinite or have Game Pass?
The multiplayer component is free to download and play; a Game Pass membership is not required for multiplayer. Campaign is a separate store listing and may be purchased separately or accessed through some Game Pass memberships. Halo Support says a physical disc grants access to the full game, including Campaign. Halo Support’s purchase and access information explains the options. A disc is not needed to play free multiplayer.
