No. Helldivers 2 supports cross-play across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, but it does not support cross-progression, cross-save, or cross-buy. You can play with friends on other platforms, but your progress and items do not follow you when you switch platform copies. Arrowhead Game Studios’ Player Support article, updated October 7, 2026, says the studio has no plans to add cross-progression at this time.
Cross-play works; cross-progression does not
These features answer different questions. Cross-play lets players on different platforms join the same multiplayer game. Cross-progression, often called cross-save, lets one player carry progress or items between platform copies. Arrowhead confirms cross-play for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, but says the same account cannot continue across platforms. Arrowhead’s current support answer is the source for the Xbox-inclusive status.

Does linking Steam and PlayStation Network transfer your save?
No. Arrowhead says linking Steam and PSN accounts does not copy game data between the PS5 and PC versions of Helldivers 2. Account linking should not be treated as a shared save or a way to combine progression.
Can support transfer your items or merge accounts?
No. Arrowhead says Player Support cannot merge accounts or transfer progression, items, DLC, or limited-time content between accounts. It also says support cannot restore items or Warbonds from another account on request. If you switch platforms, plan on using a separate copy without your existing platform’s progress.

What does Arrowhead say about future cross-progression?
In its support article updated October 7, 2026, Arrowhead says, “We have no plans to implement cross-progression at this time.” That describes the studio’s stated position as of that date; it is not a guarantee about what may happen later.
What to know before switching platforms
- Expect to start without your existing progress. The platform copies do not share progression, and support does not offer a transfer.
- Budget for another copy. Cross-buy is unavailable, so owning Helldivers 2 on one platform does not unlock it on another.
- PS5 play requires online access and PlayStation Plus. PlayStation’s support page lists this requirement for PS5. That source does not establish an equivalent Xbox subscription requirement. PlayStation’s Helldivers 2 support page also lists the PS5 and PC release date as February 8, 2024.
Which platforms can play together?
Arrowhead’s current support article names PC, PlayStation, and Xbox for cross-play. PlayStation’s January 9, 2024 announcement originally described cross-play between PC and PS5, while its community FAQ also confirms PS5 and PC players can team up. For the current Xbox-inclusive status, rely on Arrowhead’s newer, directly relevant support article.
