Don Quixote unlocks for activating all windmills in Dying Light 2 Stay Human. If it stays locked, first check the in-game map and each windmill’s completion state: players have reported failures after believing they had completed the requirement, but those posts do not establish how common the problem is or confirm a current widespread bug.
What unlocks the Don Quixote trophy?
The listed condition is to activate all windmills. The PlayStationTrophies guide gives that requirement; it does not provide a verified recovery procedure for a trophy that remains locked.
Check the in-game map and the completion state of every windmill rather than relying only on your memory of which ones you visited. A windmill that appears unfinished is the most straightforward explanation to rule out before trying more disruptive troubleshooting.
Is the trophy bugged?
Some players have described the trophy failing to unlock even though they believed they had activated all windmills. A Steam post dated 12 August 2025 reports this problem, and an older Steam discussion includes an unsuccessful New Game Plus attempt. Historical player reports also appear in a 2022 Reddit discussion.

These are individual reports, not a measurement of how many players are affected or proof of a platform-specific defect. They show that the failure has been reported; they do not establish its cause or whether it remains unfixed for every platform and game version.
What do the current official notes say?
Techland’s official patch notes list Update 1.29, “Summer of Enhancement,” dated 3 August 2026. The displayed update summary does not identify a Don Quixote fix. Techland’s hot-issues page likewise does not establish this trophy as a current known issue in the retrieved listing. That absence is not proof that no fix or support response exists elsewhere, so check the official pages for the latest information relevant to your version.

What should you try if it remains locked?
- Review the map. Check for any windmill that is not marked as completed, then visit it and confirm its in-game state.
- Check your platform’s trophy or achievement record. Confirm that Don Quixote is still locked there, and note your platform and game version.
- Contact Techland Support if every windmill appears complete. Include your platform, game version, and a description of the windmills you have activated. This gives support the details needed to assess your specific case.
Community retries are experiments, not confirmed fixes. In particular, one player reported that activating a windmill in New Game Plus did not unlock the trophy. The available evidence does not establish that replaying in New Game Plus, reinstalling the game, deleting a save, or loading another player’s save will work. Preserve your save before any troubleshooting that could risk progress.
