A $169 price for a new DualSense Edge would be below its $199.99 US launch MSRP, but the available evidence does not confirm that offer is live or that it is the controller’s new low. The latest dated checks available here put it near $199: Basketprice reported $199 at Amazon on October 1, 2026, and Pricehistory.app listed $198.99 on September 30. Check the retailer’s current listing, seller and condition before buying.
Is the DualSense Edge $169 right now?
A live $169 new-controller deal could not be verified as of October 8, 2026. The two recent tracker observations were near $199, but neither establishes the price on October 8: Basketprice recorded Amazon at $199 on October 1, while Pricehistory.app listed $198.99 on September 30. These are dated third-party observations, not guaranteed current offers. Basketprice · Pricehistory.app
Sony announced a US recommended retail price of $199.99. Pricehistory.app’s tracked history lists $159.99 on November 13, 2025, as its historical low; that tracker figure means $169 is not the lowest price shown in that history. A separate PSPrices record of $169 on January 13, 2026, is for a certified refurbished controller, not a new one. Compare condition as carefully as the price. Sony’s launch announcement · PSPrices
What makes the DualSense Edge different?
The Edge is a customizable PS5 controller. Sony lists button remapping, adjustable stick sensitivity, trigger adjustments and profiles that can be saved and switched. It also has replaceable stick caps and swappable back buttons, alongside DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in supported games. Sony’s product page
#1 Best Overall
- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
That customization is most useful if you want to tailor controls or keep different layouts for different games. It is less compelling if you simply want a standard controller and do not expect to use the tuning, remapping or profile features; the price alone does not make those features worthwhile for every player.
What comes in the box?
Sony’s listed package includes the controller, a braided USB cable, a connector housing and a carrying case, as well as interchangeable caps and back buttons:
Rank #2
- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
- Two standard stick caps
- Two high-dome stick caps and two low-dome stick caps
- Two half-dome back buttons and two lever back buttons
Sony says the controller can charge over USB while stored in its case. Replacement stick modules are sold separately; Sony’s launch announcement gave them an original US recommended retail price of $19.99. That is not a statement of current price or availability. Sony’s launch announcement
Does it work on PC?
Sony says the Edge can connect to a Windows PC by USB or Bluetooth. The PlayStation Accessories app for Windows can update its firmware and edit profiles. On PC, haptics and adaptive triggers may require a USB connection and support from the game; the controller’s function buttons can switch between profiles stored on the controller.
