The deadline for Dune: Awakening’s “Build Your Dune” building contest has passed. A July 15, 2025 report by Swaffic said entries ran from July 14 through July 28, 2025, with winners due to be announced August 8. The event invited players to build for Atreides, Harkonnen or neutral CHOAM, with prizes including a LEGO Dune ornithopter set.
What was the Build Your Dune contest?
According to Swaffic’s July 15, 2025 report, Funcom announced “Build Your Dune,” a player building contest for Dune: Awakening. The brief asked participants to create a building expressing “fealty for Atreides, devotion to Harkonnen, or allegiance to none with CHOAM.”

The report quoted the contest brief: “Your creation can be a fortress, resting place, or any type of building so long as it fits the theme of your chosen faction.” Players could combine building pieces and decorations. The report said developers judged the exterior, rather than the interior.
When did entries close?
Swaffic reported that submissions opened July 14 and closed July 28, 2025, at 6 p.m. EST. The report listed August 8, 2025, as the planned winner announcement date. All of those dates have passed; the article does not establish that entries remain open or that the submission channels are still active.

What themes could players build around?
The three themes offered different faction identities. The report did not provide separate build requirements for each one, scoring weights or a formal rubric beyond creativity, originality and fit with the chosen theme.

The reported judging criteria were creativity, originality and theme fit. Developers judged the building exterior, so the key considerations described in the report were whether the visible structure conveyed a distinct idea and fit its selected theme. No point system or weighting was stated.

Swaffic reported three first-place winners, one for each theme, and six runners-up, two for each theme. It also mentioned an in-game Atreides Battle Rifle for honorable mentions, with first-place and runner-up winners receiving that item as well.
