EA said Battlefield 2042 would not support mouse and keyboard on consoles at launch. EA’s PS5 control documentation describes controller controls, and the available official sources do not confirm that console mouse-and-keyboard support was added later. For PS5 gameplay, use a controller unless EA publishes updated support information.
What EA has said about mouse and keyboard on consoles
In an official statement about positive play, EA said mouse-and-keyboard support would not be available on consoles at the launch of Battlefield 2042. EA also said it was investigating possible options and their impact on cross-play, and would communicate any change: EA’s positive-play statement.
That statement describes the launch position, not a permanent policy covering every later update. EA’s PS5 control resources document controller mappings, but do not confirm that a mouse and keyboard work in PS5 gameplay. The available official sources do not establish whether EA later changed its position.
Does cross-play let you use a mouse and keyboard?
No. Cross-play determines which platforms can play together; it does not enable a particular input device. EA groups PS5 with Xbox Series X|S and PC for cross-play, but that grouping is not evidence that the PS5 version accepts mouse-and-keyboard input. See EA’s cross-play information for the platform groups and setting.

How to change the cross-play setting on PS5
If your question is about playing with friends on other platforms, cross-play is separate from the control method. EA’s PS5 general settings page explains the setting and its restrictions:

- Change the Cross-Play setting as needed.
EA says you cannot change Cross-Play while in a party, during matchmaking, or after joining a server. Leave the party or server and make the change before matchmaking. Details are in EA’s PS5 cross-play settings instructions.
