These are separate games with different scopes, not two editions of the same experience. The official Assetto Corsa product description presents a general racing simulator with a range of licensed cars, tracks, and activities. ACC’s official product description identifies it as the official GT World Challenge videogame and focuses on GT3 competition.

What you can drive and do in Assetto Corsa
AC’s official listing names manufacturers including Abarth, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes, Pagani, and Porsche. It also names circuits such as Monza, Silverstone, Imola, Mugello, Spa, and Brands Hatch. Beyond conventional circuit races, the listing includes drag and drift challenges, alongside career, special events, custom championships, race weekends, and multiplayer.

An archived official Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition announcement gives figures of 178 cars and 40 track configurations across 19 circuits. Those are the announcement’s Ultimate Edition figures, not a current independent audit of the game’s content.

ACC is built around GT World Challenge and GT3 racing. Its official description highlights licensed drivers, teams, cars, and circuits, and names sprint and endurance formats, including the Spa 24 Hours. It also describes tire and aerodynamic simulation, changing weather, and night racing as parts of the championship-focused experience.
ACC’s modes include career, championship, free play, special events, ranked multiplayer, and matchmaking. Its official description emphasizes licensed, curated competition rather than the broad activity mix and explicit modding pitch found on AC’s product page.

Choose Assetto Corsa if you want variety
- You want to drive a broad selection of licensed cars and circuits.
- You’re interested in drag or drift challenges as well as circuit racing.
- You value modding and player customization.
Choose Assetto Corsa Competizione if you want GT racing
- You primarily want GT World Challenge and GT3 competition.
- You’re drawn to official championship teams, drivers, and cars.
- Sprint races, endurance events, and the Spa 24 Hours are central to what you want to play.
This recommendation follows the games’ stated content and design; it isn’t an objective ranking of their driving physics or technical quality.

No. Both games list gamepad support. AC also lists keyboard and joystick input, while ACC describes support ranging from gamepads to professional steering wheels. A wheel is an optional accessory for a wheel-based setup, not a requirement to play. Check the current store listing and platform details before buying hardware, since these descriptions don’t verify every wheel model on every platform.

What to check before buying
Both official product pages show downloadable content and bundles. Since storefront offers and DLC listings can change, check the current listing for the platform and edition you plan to buy rather than relying on an old price or bundle description.
The available official descriptions don’t settle current roster totals for both games, feature parity across platforms, current player counts, or which game has better graphics, performance, or physics. Treat those as separate questions that need current, platform-specific evidence.
