Sometimes. Hogwarts Legacy saves can be used across certain console generations, but the official instructions do not describe one universal save-sync system for every platform. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S can share saves; PS4 saves can be imported to PS5; and Switch saves can be transferred to Switch 2. The source and destination devices determine what works.
Which Hogwarts Legacy save transfers are supported?

WB Games’ console-generation transfer guide documents the three supported paths above. It does not make an exhaustive ruling on every possible platform pairing, so an undocumented route should not be treated as either guaranteed or definitively impossible.

How to use an Xbox One save on Xbox Series X|S
- Connect the console to the internet and sign in with the same account that created the Hogwarts Legacy save.
- Highlight Hogwarts Legacy, open Manage game and add-ons, then select Saved data to check that the save is present.
- Launch the game and load the save. WB Games says the same saved data can be used on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S when online and signed into the account where it was created.
How to import a PS4 save on PS5
You can move the save using PlayStation Plus online storage, or USB storage if you do not have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
- On PS4, highlight the game tile, press Options, and choose Upload/Download Save Data.
- Upload the save to PlayStation Plus online storage. If you do not have an active subscription, use USB storage as the alternative described by WB Games.
- On PS5, download the PS4 save into console storage.
- Launch the PS5 version of Hogwarts Legacy and accept the in-game import prompt. If you skip it, you can start the import later from the PS5 game menu.
Before proceeding, note that this is not a round trip: a PS5 save cannot be sent back to PS4. The PS4 copy also stays at the point it had reached before import, so progress made in the PS5 version does not update that copy.

How to transfer a Switch save to Switch 2
There are two documented ways to get the save onto Switch 2:
- Local transfer: On the original Switch, use Manage Software > Transfer Save Data, with Switch 2 set to receive the data.
- Cloud download: If you have Nintendo Switch Online, download the backup from Save Data Cloud.
Then launch the Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy and accept the save-import prompt. Alternatively, select Transfer Nintendo Switch Save Data from the game’s main menu. This transfer does not work in reverse: the Switch 2 save cannot be transferred back to the original Switch, which resumes from its state before the transfer.

Does linking a WB Games account move the save?
No save-transfer feature is described in WB Games’ account-linking guidance. The Hogwarts Legacy FAQ says players on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic Games can link a Harry Potter Fan Club and WB Games account to customize the experience and unlock rewards, including a mask and robe. That is account and reward linking; it is not evidence that save progress follows you between those platforms.

The official pages cited here identify PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC as platforms and describe Hogwarts Legacy as a single-player game, but they do not provide PC launcher-specific cloud-save instructions. They also do not document general transfers between console brands or between console and PC. Do not assume that owning the game on two platforms, or linking the same WB Games account, moves a save between them.
