Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s first update paired quality-of-life changes and bug fixes with an N7-themed appearance for Rook. BioWare’s notes describe the armor as cosmetic-only; the patch arrived on November 7, 2024, one week after launch.
When did the first update arrive?
BioWare described Patch 1 as arriving one week after The Veilguard launched. The studio’s official notes do not display a publication date, but contemporaneous coverage reported the first PS5 patch available on November 7, 2024. BioWare’s news index also dates its N7 Day 2024 post to November 7, noting that the studio was keeping its Mass Effect celebration lighter because The Veilguard had just launched. Push Square’s November 7 report and BioWare’s news index establish the timing.
This was a maintenance update, not a major content expansion: BioWare characterized Patch 1 as a mix of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.

What did Mass Effect fans get?
BioWare’s patch notes say: “Rook can find a new N7 day appearance in the Lighthouse. This is a cosmetic only armor.” It is an N7-themed nod to Mass Effect, but the official description makes clear that it changes Rook’s appearance rather than adding gameplay benefits.
The notes establish one new appearance, but do not explain its exact location within the Lighthouse or give step-by-step instructions for obtaining it. The safest takeaway is that Rook can find the cosmetic there; it is not a new mission or playable content.
