Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Standard Edition includes the game; the Deluxe Edition includes the game plus cosmetic appearances for Rook and companions. Neither edition includes the separately announced collector bundles or art book. Here’s what each purchase contains and what to check before buying.

What does the Deluxe Edition add?
Deluxe adds appearance options for your character and companions, not a different version of the base game. EA categorizes the items as cosmetic: the package consists of armor and weapon appearances for Rook and companion characters.
- Rook: 3 armor appearances, covering Warrior, Mage, and Rogue, and 6 weapon appearances.
- Companions: 7 armor appearances and 7 weapon appearances.
The item groups and counts are listed on EA’s product page and announcement.

Is the Deluxe Edition worth it?
Choose based on whether the extra appearances matter to you, not on an expectation of additional gameplay content: EA describes Deluxe’s additions as cosmetic. Compare the current Standard and Deluxe prices in your own storefront, since the launch prices announced in August 2024 are historical. If you already own Standard, you can instead consider the Deluxe Edition Upgrade; it adds the Deluxe content without requiring you to buy the base game again.
How to upgrade from Standard to Deluxe
- Open the same platform storefront where you bought the base game and look for the Deluxe Edition Upgrade. EA says the upgrade should be purchased from the same storefront as the original game; Steam is one example in EA Help.
- Confirm you own the base game and have installed all game updates. Those are listed as requirements on EA’s upgrade page.
- After installing the upgrade, find the extra content in Rook’s Wardrobe, as described by EA Help.
Was there a preorder bonus?
EA announced a Blood Dragon Armor cosmetic set for Warrior, Mage, and Rogue with qualifying Standard or Deluxe preorders. That was a historical offer; the announcement does not establish that it is still available. Check the current listing and terms for your platform before assuming a preorder bonus is included.
