Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test codes were distributed for a limited test in February 2025, but that test has ended. Bandai Namco now lists the full game as available; a test code does not provide access to the released game. Bandai Namco’s current Nightreign page and FromSoftware’s original announcement distinguish the released game from the past test.
Did Nightreign test codes go out?
Yes. Bandai Namco opened registration on January 10, 2025, for the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Closed Network Test. The test ran from February 14 to February 17, 2025, and its code distribution is not an ongoing rollout. The original registration announcement and the current product page show the difference between the expired test and the released game.

Selection was not guaranteed. The Americas registration page specified random selection and warned that signing up—or updating a platform choice—did not guarantee a code. The test was free; Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe S.A.S.’s rules state, “The Network Test is free of charge and without obligation to purchase.”
When did the test take place?
Dates and times below are from Bandai Namco’s European rules, so they apply to that ruleset. Registration was open from January 10, 2025, at 3 p.m. CEST until January 20 at 3 p.m. CEST. The test ran from February 14 at 3 p.m. CEST until February 17 at 7 a.m. CEST. FromSoftware’s February 12, 2025 gameplay guide listed a February 14 start at 8 p.m. JST.

The European rules offered 97,923 places/codes under that regional ruleset; this is not a global total. The available official information does not establish a worldwide application count.
What platforms and accounts were eligible?
The Network Test was for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, not Steam. Bandai Namco’s Americas platform update explained that Steam had mistakenly appeared as an initial signup option and directed those registrants to select an eligible console instead.

Eligibility and code redemption were regional. A Bandai Namco notice dated February 14, 2025, warned that certain distributed PlayStation codes were valid only for accounts registered in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia; accounts from other regions might encounter redemption problems. That notice concerns those codes and does not establish a worldwide account-region rule. Check the terms or notice for the region attached to a code rather than assuming it will work on any account.
What did the Network Test include?
Bandai Namco described Nightreign as a standalone co-op PvE game set in the ELDEN RING universe. Players could form squads of three, choose Nightfarers, and face enemies and bosses in an evolving environment built around a three-day-and-night cycle. The announcement’s overview mentioned eight unique characters for the full game; it should not be read as a promise that every announced character or feature appeared in the limited test build.

FromSoftware described the released game as a co-op action survival game supporting three-player play as well as solo play. Owning the original ELDEN RING is not required to play Nightreign.

No. The test window ended in February 2025, so its code was for temporary access to that event, not a license for the full game. Bandai Namco’s product page currently lists Nightreign as available. FromSoftware identified the full game for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam; availability and edition options can vary by region and platform.
If you want to play now, look for the released game on your platform’s official store or an authorized retailer. FromSoftware’s product information includes a PS5 package version, but a physical-game listing is separate from a test code. The Collector’s Edition was documented with a Wylder statue, hardcover art book, steelbook, and character card set; that does not confirm current stock or retailer availability.
