Download and Install Warzone 2100 on Ubuntu

Download Warzone 2100 from the project’s official releases page, then choose the Ubuntu .deb that matches both your Ubuntu version and your computer’s architecture. The project documents installation with APT; its example for Ubuntu 24.04 and later is sudo apt install ./warzone2100_ubuntu24.04_amd64.deb.

Choose the right Ubuntu package

Match the package to both your Ubuntu release and your machine’s architecture. For example, the documented Ubuntu 24.04+ command uses an amd64 package. Do not use that filename automatically if your system or the release page indicates a different architecture or Ubuntu version.

Install the downloaded .deb

1. Download the matching Ubuntu .deb from the official releases page. Note its exact filename and where your browser saved it.

2. Open a terminal in the folder containing the download. If it is in Downloads, run cd ~/Downloads.

3. Install the package with APT, substituting the exact filename if it differs. For the project’s Ubuntu 24.04+ amd64 example, run sudo apt install ./warzone2100_ubuntu24.04_amd64.deb.

4. When prompted, enter your Ubuntu account password and confirm the installation. APT may also install required dependencies.

The ./ before the filename tells APT to install a local package from the current folder. The project’s documented method is sudo apt install followed by the local .deb filename.

Development build	This is separate from a stable release. The project README says downloading development artifacts currently requires a free GitHub account. Choose this route only if you specifically want a development build.
Browser edition	The game has a browser edition page that links to the full desktop download.
