Check whether EA or your platform is having an outage
Start with EA’s live server-status page. Check the entry for EA SPORTS FC 25 and the service for your platform—PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or Steam, as applicable. The status can change, so check it when the error occurs rather than relying on an earlier report.

If FC 25 or your platform service is unavailable, wait for service to return before changing network settings. A local connection change will not resolve a server or platform interruption. If the listed services appear available, continue with the checks below; a normal status does not by itself rule out a local or account-specific problem.
Restart the game and test your connection
- Restart FC 25. Close the game fully, then open it again and try Ultimate Team.
- Restart your router. EA’s general connection guidance recommends restarting the router. After it reconnects, try the game again.
- If you use Wi-Fi, check the signal. Move closer to the router and consider whether walls or other wireless interference could be affecting the connection.
- Try wired broadband if practical. Connect the console or PC to the router with an Ethernet cable, then test Ultimate Team again. EA notes that wired connections can be more reliable than wireless. This is a diagnostic test for Wi-Fi problems, not a fix for a service outage or account restriction.
EA’s general connection troubleshooting guide also identifies DNS issues as a possible connection factor. Consider that only after checking service status and trying the simpler connection tests.

Check platform and EA Account access
Online play can be blocked by account or platform conditions even when services are available. Check that your platform’s online service is working and, on consoles, that any required online subscription is active. EA also lists these account conditions as possible barriers to online play:
- The EA Account is banned or suspended.
- The account has been deactivated or deleted.
- The account is already in use elsewhere.
- The account is a child account with online-play restrictions.
Review the account you are using and any relevant platform or EA notices. Do not share account credentials as a troubleshooting step.

When the problem appears limited to one account
If other online services work and the failure seems specific to one EA Account, an EA Community response suggests comparing with another account as a diagnostic check. This is anecdotal advice, not a guaranteed fix. If you choose to compare, use an account you are authorized to access; do not share accounts. If only the affected account cannot connect, contact EA Help rather than expecting the comparison to repair it.

Contact EA Help if the live status checks, router restart, connection test, and account checks do not resolve the issue. Include your platform, when the error began, whether other online features work, and which troubleshooting steps you tried. A reported forum wording is “Connecting to ultimate team is not possible at the moment,” but wording can vary by player or platform.
