The advertised differences were chiefly dated preorder bonuses, not guarantees of what a current listing or copy includes.
College Football 25 editions at a glance
| Offer | What it included under EA’s launch-era offer terms | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition preorder | Alma Mater Ultimate Team Pack (choice of 1 of 134 player items); Cover Athlete Ultimate Team Pack (choice of 1 of 3 player items); Bring Glory Home Ultimate Team uniform item. | Preorder offer ended at release. Items were for College Football Ultimate Team, tied to one EA account, and required entering the game and Ultimate Team while connected to EA servers. EA’s edition and offer terms. |
| Deluxe Edition preorder by June 27, 2024 | Heisman Hopeful Ultimate Team Pack (choice of 1 of 5); Alma Mater pack; Cover Athlete pack; Bring Glory Home uniform item; 4,600 College Football Points; up to three days of early access. | This was the earlier, deadline-specific offer. EA’s terms stated an offer deadline; it is not a current bonus promise. EA’s edition and offer terms. |
| Deluxe Edition preorder after June 27, 2024 | Alma Mater pack; Cover Athlete pack; Bring Glory Home uniform item; 4,600 College Football Points; up to three days of early access. | The later offer no longer listed the Heisman Hopeful pack. The preorder offer expired upon release. EA’s edition and offer terms. |
| EA SPORTS MVP Bundle | College Football 25 Deluxe Edition and Madden NFL 25 Deluxe Edition, with up to three days of early access for both games and other benefits. The College Football portion’s dated terms list its packs, uniform item, 4,600 points, and early access. | This is a two-game bundle, not a standalone College Football 25 edition. Its benefits were also subject to preorder deadlines. EA’s release announcement and offer terms. |
What was the difference between Standard and Deluxe?
Standard’s listed preorder offer contained three Ultimate Team items: the Alma Mater pack, the Cover Athlete pack, and the Bring Glory Home uniform item. Deluxe added College Football Points and up to three days of early access, along with those items. The Deluxe pack list depended on when the preorder was placed: EA’s offer through June 27, 2024 also named the Heisman Hopeful pack, while the later version did not.

Those were launch-period preorder benefits. EA’s terms do not establish that a present-day purchase includes the same packs, points, uniform, or early access. Nor do the historical terms confirm that a particular retailer’s code remains redeemable.
What did the MVP Bundle include?
The EA SPORTS MVP Bundle combined College Football 25 Deluxe and Madden NFL 25 Deluxe. It was the option for buyers seeking both games; it should not be treated as another name for College Football 25 Deluxe alone. EA advertised up to three days of early access for both titles, while the College Football benefits were governed by that game’s dated preorder terms.

Platforms and release date
EA announced College Football 25 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a worldwide release date of July 19, 2024. EA’s release announcement documents the launch platforms and date. The cited launch information does not establish current stock, whether an individual listing is physical or digital, or whether edition upgrades remain available.
How to assess a listing today
- Confirm the platform shown on the listing—PS5 or Xbox Series X|S—and that it matches your console.
- Check the exact edition and format. A listing’s title alone may not establish whether it is Standard, Deluxe, a bundle, physical, or digital.
- Look for explicit, current wording about included codes or bonuses. Do not assume a listing includes a historical preorder incentive just because it names Deluxe or the MVP Bundle.
- If a code is advertised, check its redemption deadline, region, and account requirements with the seller or publisher before purchase. EA’s original terms required redemption in-game, access to Ultimate Team, and an EA server connection; codes were account-bound and nontransferable.
What the editions changed—and what they did not
The documented comparison concerns edition packaging and preorder incentives; it does not describe different core game modes. EA’s reveal covered Dynasty, Road to Glory, College Football Ultimate Team, and Road to the College Football Playoff. It also described Team Builder, which lets players create a program for use in Play Now and Dynasty subject to connectivity and account conditions. EA’s game reveal and gameplay announcement provide the mode context.
