To unlock the option to resist Babidi in Vegeta’s story, replay “Preparing for the World Tournament” and complete its alternate objective. Then continue to “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart” and choose “Shake off brainwashing” at the Babidi scene. That choice opens the “Number One Spot” route.
How to make the brainwashing choice appear
-
In Vegeta’s Episode Battle story, return to “Preparing for the World Tournament,” the mission immediately before “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart.” Bandai Namco describes Episode Battle as the mode for playing featured character stories, including Vegeta; read the official game modes handbook.
-
Replay the mission and meet its alternate objective: reduce Trunks to at least one health bar remaining. Game8’s “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart” walkthrough identifies the preceding mission’s alternate objective as the prerequisite for the branch.
-
Continue to “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart.” At the Babidi scene, select “Shake off brainwashing” (the exact wording can vary by localization). This unlocks “Number One Spot.”

What to do if “Shake off brainwashing” is missing
Go back to “Preparing for the World Tournament” and try its alternate objective again. Reaching “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart” alone does not guarantee the resistance choice will appear. Player reports describe the prerequisite as winning quickly while taking limited damage, but the available walkthrough does not establish a universal timer, exact damage limit, or required move sequence. Avoid treating informal timing advice as a fixed rule.
For additional player accounts of the prerequisite, see the Steam Community guide “How to refuse mind control of Babidi” and the discussion “Can’t ‘shake off brainwashing’”.

What the two choices change
-
Resist Babidi: choosing to shake off the brainwashing opens the “Number One Spot” alternate route, with fights involving Dabura and Babidi followed by a World Tournament confrontation with Goku.
-
Accept the brainwashing: decline to resist and continue along Vegeta’s main storyline instead.
