The Dragon Ball Z DLC for Minecraft launched on November 5, 2025. It is a released Bedrock Edition add-on—not a new 2026 announcement—and its launch trailer shows the crossover in action. The official Dragon Ball site warns that the trailer footage was captured from a development build and may differ from the final release.

What is in the Dragon Ball Z Minecraft DLC?
The add-on brings Dragon Ball Z characters, signature abilities, and battle scenarios into Minecraft’s block-based style. The Dragon Ball Official Site describes 11 playable characters, two modes, and 31 unlockable items.
Tournament mode
Tournament mode recreates four matchups:
- Goku vs. Piccolo at the Tenkaichi Budokai
- Goku vs. Cell at the Cell Games Arena
- Goku vs. Frieza on Planet Namek
- Goku vs. Vegeta, including Great Ape Vegeta, in Gizard Wasteland
Clear the scenarios to unlock free selection of opponents and stages. Defeating selected opponents unlocks those characters.

Multiplayer battles
Multiplayer supports battle-royale-style clashes and teams of up to five players against five. The maximum player count may vary by platform, so check the Marketplace listing for the version you plan to use.
Abilities, items, and Dragon Balls
Characters have series-inspired abilities; the official article gives Goku’s Kamehameha as an example. Abilities have cooldowns, while dealing or receiving damage fills a fighting meter used for an ultimate ability. A health and fighting display supports the battles.

The DLC also has 31 progression- and achievement-based unlockable items, including a Dragon Radar and Kintoun. The official article says collecting all seven Dragon Balls triggers a special event; it does not describe that event in further detail.
Do you need Minecraft Bedrock Edition?
Yes. The Dragon Ball Z DLC requires Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, which is sold separately. Owning the base game does not include the crossover DLC. The official Dragon Ball article does not list Java Edition as compatible.

Price and where to get it
The Dragon Ball Official Site listed the DLC at 1,510 Minecoins, called Tokens on PlayStation, and said it is available through the Minecraft Marketplace. Store display and platform pricing may vary; the article does not establish a current region-specific price. Check the Marketplace on your platform for the amount and availability shown there.

The Dragon Ball Official Site announced that Minecraft released the DLC on November 5, 2025. Its article, “The Dragon Ball Z DLC for Minecraft Is Out Now!”, called it a “massive Dragon Ball Z DLC.” Toei Animation’s release announcement was dated November 4, 2025; Minecraft’s verified YouTube listing identifies its launch trailer as published November 5, 2025.
