The exact end date of EA’s contract is not established by the cited official sources. Lucasfilm currently lists Star Wars Zero Company, Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Star Wars Eclipse; Zero Company is available now, while Lucasfilm’s page gives no release dates for the other two.
What changed about EA’s Star Wars exclusivity?
The clearest evidence of a shift away from a single-partner slate is the range of studios now attached to official Star Wars games. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment announced a collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm Games in 2021, and the project became Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive with Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games. The announcement of that project documents a non-EA partnership, but does not establish when EA’s contract expired. StarWars.com describes Outlaws as an open-world game set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
EA remains part of the picture. In 2022, EA and Lucasfilm announced three projects with Respawn: another Jedi game, a Star Wars first-person shooter, and a strategy game developed by Bit Reactor with Respawn producing. The strategy project became Star Wars Zero Company. In 2024, EA said it had pivoted away from early development on the shooter. EA’s announcement said it would focus on projects based on its owned brands while continuing support for existing games. The FPS should therefore not be treated as an upcoming release.
What Star Wars games are next?
Lucasfilm’s current games page lists the following titles. Its descriptions establish their genres and settings, but it does not provide release dates for Galactic Racer or Eclipse. See Lucasfilm’s official games listing.

Star Wars Zero Company is available now
Zero Company follows former Republic officer Hawks and an unconventional squad during the Clone Wars. EA describes squad customization, tactical operations, investigations and a base of operations called The Den. The game launched on August 27, 2026, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, with retail and digital availability. EA’s announcement has the release details.
EA and Lucasfilm first revealed the Bit Reactor project on April 19, 2025, describing it as a single-player, turn-based tactics game set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. Which announced games have no confirmed release date?
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Lucasfilm describes Galactic Racer as a runs-based racing game set on an underground Outer Rim circuit. The cited Lucasfilm listing does not give a release date, so it is announced but not date-confirmed.
Star Wars Eclipse
Eclipse is described as a branching action-adventure set during the High Republic and created with Quantic Dream. Lucasfilm’s listing does not give a release date.

Another Star Wars Jedi game
EA and Lucasfilm announced a new Jedi game in 2022, but the announcement does not establish its formal title or release timing. It is more accurate to call it announced than to assign it a launch window.
What happened to the announced Star Wars FPS?
EA announced a new Star Wars FPS led by Peter Hirschmann in January 2022. On February 28, 2024, EA president of entertainment and technology Laura Miele said the company had decided to “pivot away from early development” on the project. It is not part of the confirmed upcoming slate. EA’s statement on its business strategy explains the decision.

Is EA still making Star Wars games?
EA has not left Star Wars games: it released Zero Company in partnership with Bit Reactor and Lucasfilm Games, and it previously announced another Jedi game with Respawn. What has changed is that Star Wars games are no longer represented only by EA projects; titles involving Ubisoft, Massive Entertainment and Quantic Dream are also on the official slate. The available announcements do not establish a precise contractual end date for EA’s former exclusivity.
