Check the central terminal to see the objective, then find each gong across the temple’s five floors and hit it with Yunobo. When all five are active, return to the terminal to open the route to Marbled Gohma.
This route follows the temple’s mine-cart network and uses floor labels, bells, and track switches as landmarks. If you lose your bearings, fast-travel back to the entrance and reorient before continuing.
Before you start
The Fire Temple is the buried Goron settlement of Gorondia, in the Eldin Canyon Depths beneath Death Mountain. It is part of the Yunobo of Goron City main quest. Its five floors are connected by broken mine-cart tracks, so the central chamber and the 3F hub are useful landmarks.
- Protect yourself from the heat with Flamebreaker armor or a flame-proof elixir.
- Use metal or Zonaite weapons; wooden equipment burns in the temple’s hot environment.
- Activate the entrance fast-travel point. It gives you a reliable way back if the cart routes become confusing.
The route below numbers the gongs for convenience, not because the game requires this order. Use the floor labels and your current track layout to orient yourself.

How to reach the five gongs
1. South side of 1F
- From the entrance route, cross the first lava using the stone slates already in place. For the wider pool, activate a Hydrant and let its water hit the lava to create temporary slate platforms.
- Ride the mine cart with its fan. Use Yunobo to hit the track switch and redirect the cart toward the south room.
- Use Hydrant-made slate as a path to the marbled-rock obstruction. Charge Yunobo into the rock, then hit the gong inside the room.
2. Lava chamber on 2F
- Return to the cart route and use the bells and switches to redirect your cart. Follow the tracks down to the lava chamber.
- Break the marbled boulder so Hydrant water can form floating slate. Ride a slate across the pool, then use Recall to reverse its movement and carry you back across.
- Defeat the Construct in the chamber and strike the gong.
3. Elevated gong above the 3F hub
- From the 2F route, use the bell to raise the tracks to 3F. The central room on 3F is a useful hub for the next routes.
- Take the north route and ride the circular track to a stair platform. Break the marbled boulder there to reveal a Hydrant.
- Use the Hydrant-made slate to build a longer ramp. Aim Yunobo up the ramp to hit the elevated gong, which is technically on 4F.
4. Southwest route from 4F to 5F
- From the 3F hub, attach a Rocket to a mine cart and use it to cross the broken southwest tracks.
- Use Ultrahand to reconnect the broken bridge, then climb it if you want the Ruby chest on the way.
- Break the overhead marbled boulder with Yunobo. When the block drops, use Recall and ride it upward. Strike the gong on 5F.
5. Enclosed room on 1F
- Return toward the 3F hub and send Yunobo up the earlier ramp to break the southwest marbled boulder. Alternatively, from the 5F side, glide around and drop through the central opening.
- Drop through the opening into the enclosed room on 1F and strike the final gong.
- Use the nearby switch to open a shortcut back toward the central chamber.
What the temple’s tools and controls do
- Yunobo: His charge breaks marbled rock, hits track switches, and rings gongs. Aim along a ramp when the target is above your level.
- Hydrants: Water hitting lava makes temporary slate platforms. Place the Hydrant with the crossing in mind, because the slate’s direction affects how you can use it.
- Ultrahand: Use it to move mine carts onto the rail you need and join slate or bridge pieces into a usable path.
- Recall: Reverse a moving slate to cross lava, or ride a dropped block upward to reach a higher floor.
- Bells and track switches: These redirect carts, open gates, or raise and lower track sections. If a route does not line up, look for a bell or target near the current track and hit it with Yunobo.
- Rocket: Attach one to a cart to cross the broken southwest tracks on the way to 4F.
Return to the terminal and face Marbled Gohma
After all five gongs have been struck, return to the central chamber and interact with the Zonai terminal. It opens the large door to Marbled Gohma. Use Yunobo’s charge against the boss’s rocky legs; when it falls, attack its exposed eye.

The locks are not order-locked, so you can revisit any route without restarting the sequence. Check the central terminal and compare your progress with the floor landmarks above. If the carts have become difficult to follow, use the entrance fast-travel point to reset your orientation, then return to the central chamber or 3F hub and take one route at a time.

- Ultrahand: Using the new Ultrahand ability, Link can pick up, move, and rotate almost any object, and can even attach objects together to create bridges, vehicles, and more!
- Fuse: Magically fuse almost any object to Link’s current weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability, damage, or even add a new effect. Experiment with lots of different combinations to come up with surprising—and sometimes hilarious—results!
- Ascend: Add a new dimension to your exploration with Ascend, which gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Rise up through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.
- Recall: Use Recall to make objects in motion move backward through time, letting Link ride fallen boulders skyward, recover thrown weapons, or send projectiles back where they came from.
