Nintendo’s official game page and US launch announcement also point to those two storefronts. Avoid third-party APK download sites: the official distribution routes identified by Nintendo are the App Store and Google Play.
Is Fire Emblem Shadows released?
Yes. Nintendo announced and released Fire Emblem Shadows on September 25, 2025 as a smart-device spin-off. Nintendo said it was available at launch in more than 70 countries and regions, including Japan and the United States; that launch figure is not a guarantee of current availability in every country. The launch information describes a mobile release for iOS and Android, not a Nintendo Switch version.

- Inspired by Fire Emblem Gaiden, which released exclusively in Japan in 1992

What kind of game is it?
Nintendo calls the genre “Real-Time Tactics and Treachery.” In play, it combines real-time battles, role-playing and social deduction: three allies fight together, but one secretly serves the shadow. After the first fight, players vote on who they believe is the traitor, and the outcome affects the conditions of the next battle.
Nintendo’s gameplay overview describes three phases: combat in the Sun Room, a vote, and the final battle in the Moon Room. The game presents events from both light and shadow perspectives.

- Price: Free to download and start, with optional in-game purchases. Nintendo’s launch announcement also notes paid content and period-based charges, so not every item or feature should be assumed to be free. Store listings mark the app as free with in-app purchases.
- Internet: Nintendo says persistent internet access is required. Data charges may apply depending on your plan.
- Android: Nintendo Support lists Android 10.0 or higher as the supported baseline, on a device that can use Google Play. See the Android support FAQ for the requirement.
- iOS: A universal minimum iOS version is not established here. Check the Compatibility section in your local App Store listing before downloading.
