To play a bot-focused battle royale in Apex Legends, choose Bot Royale Evolved. It is the official mode built for a more relaxed match, but it is not a guaranteed all-bot lobby: matches can include both human players and bots, and the game may add bot squads when there are not enough similarly ranked human players. For aim or movement practice, use Training or the Firing Range instead.
How to enter Bot Royale Evolved

Open Apex Legends’ mode or playlist selection and look for Bot Royale Evolved.

Select the mode and queue for a match. EA describes it as a battle royale similar to Unranked Trios, with tighter matchmaking than that playlist. The exact menu placement can change, so use the current in-game playlist list rather than relying on a fixed button-by-button path.

Expect a possible mix of human players and bot opponents. EA says the game adds bot squads when similarly ranked human players are scarce; bots cannot join your squad.

EA does not publish a guaranteed bot count or a percentage of bots for each match. Bot Royale Evolved is the legitimate bot-heavy option, not a way to force a lobby containing only bots.

What matchmaking can—and cannot—do
Apex uses different matchmaking measures by mode, according to EA’s matchmaking help page: Unranked Pubs and Wildcard use hidden MMR, Ranked uses RP, and Mixtape uses damage. Players cannot see the MMR or damage skill values. In premade squads, non-Ranked MMR and damage matching use the squad average with a small matchmaking bonus for the coordination advantage; Ranked uses the highest RP in the squad.

Those systems are not player-controlled switches for obtaining bots. EA’s June 8, 2026 matchmaking update said updated matchmaking logic for Ranked and Unranked Trios was implemented globally on May 7, 2026. It also discussed tests of bot-fill in mid-tier Duos and public Trios, noting that bots should be added only where they can participate meaningfully and that their behavior remains a work in progress. That is developer-reported implementation context, not a guarantee that bots will appear in every playlist or match.
EA also stated in that update: “there are no plans to add bots to Ranked, and bots do not fill an empty spot on your squad.” This is a statement dated June 8, 2026, not a permanent promise about future updates.

Do region changes, losses, or new accounts guarantee easier lobbies?
No reliable method for forcing weak human opponents or a guaranteed bot lobby is established by EA’s published guidance. The official materials do not support changing regions, using a VPN, deliberately losing matches, or relying on account level as a recipe for bots. Ranked uses RP; other modes use their own matchmaking measures, and those hidden values are not exposed for players to manipulate precisely.

Creating an additional account to disrupt beginner matches is smurfing, which EA identifies as a violation of its Play Fair rules. EA also warns against unauthorized account purchases and leveling, and says sharing account credentials is unsafe. Avoid cheats and boosting as well: they do not provide a legitimate route to Bot Royale Evolved and can put your account at risk. See EA’s Apex Legends Play Fair rules for its current guidance.
