When did Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave come out?
Nintendo lists September 17, 2026 as the release date. The game was first announced for a 2026 launch; Nintendo’s later Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct gave the specific date and said it would launch only on Nintendo Switch 2.

Is Fortune’s Weave on the original Switch?
No. Nintendo describes the game as exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and lists it as playable only on that console. Its US product page identifies Intelligent Systems as the developer and Nintendo as the publisher; it also lists single-player play on one system and TV, tabletop, and handheld modes.
What is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave about?
Nintendo describes the game as a tactical role-playing adventure in which four heroes’ journeys intertwine across time. Their goal is to stop Balor, a demon god, and save the future. Nintendo’s UK overview places the story in the Dagdan Empire in the year 1454: Fortuna, a goddess who can travel through time, offers a way to avert disaster.

The confirmed outline centers on preparing for the Heroic Games before taking on tactical matches. Nintendo describes activities in and around the capital, Dagsion, that give players ways to build up their party and prepare.

Is there a day-one update?
Nintendo Support says version 1.0.1 became available on September 16, 2026, a day before the listed release date. The update grants extra weapons from the Fire Emblem series as the story progresses and fixes various issues. Nintendo’s version 1.0.1 update notice documents that release; it does not establish whether a newer version has since replaced it.
