The next Pokémon TCG Pocket card rollout is expected in October 2026, and the standout reported reveal is a new dual-type card: Mega Mewtwo X ex, described as Psychic/Fighting. Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex were also shown as first partner Pokémon ex cards. These details were reported by Nintendo Life on August 29 as part of an announcement at PokémonXP—not presented as unauthenticated leaks.
What was revealed for the next Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion?
Nintendo Life reported on August 29, 2026 that The Pokémon Company announced at PokémonXP that dual-type cards would arrive in October as part of a new series of expansions. The report identifies Mega Mewtwo X ex as Psychic/Fighting, and says players would be able to collect first partner Pokémon as ex cards, including Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex. Nintendo Life’s report describes the October rollout, but the details here should be understood as attributed reporting on the announcement.
Mega Mewtwo X ex introduces dual types
The reported Psychic/Fighting typing is the clearest confirmed feature detail for the coming cards. The report does not establish Mega Mewtwo X ex’s attacks, HP, rarity, card artwork beyond what was shown, or how its dual typing will work in play.
Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex are first partner examples
The same report names Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex among the first partner Pokémon ex cards shown. It says more first partner Pokémon are expected, but it does not provide a complete list.

Is the next set officially called C1, and when does it release?
“C1” is a fan-tracking label, not an officially confirmed set name in the sources reviewed. Pokémon Zone’s page, last updated September 11, 2026, lists Mega Mewtwo X ex, Piplup ex, and Fuecoco ex under C1 and estimates a late-October release. The page says the exact date is unknown. Treat that window as an unofficial estimate, not a Pokémon announcement. Pokémon Zone’s C1 listing does not establish a complete card checklist.
The official Pokémon Company International announcement dated September 24, 2026 concerns a separate product: Deluxe Pack: Mega, scheduled to launch September 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. PDT. It does not supply the later C-series set’s full details. The official Deluxe Pack: Mega announcement makes clear why the two releases should not be conflated.

Why “next expansion” depends on the date
Release order changes what counts as “next.” PokéBeach called Team Rocket’s Ambition the then-next Pocket set in an August 20, 2026 article. The September 29 Deluxe Pack: Mega announcement and the October rollout reported after PokémonXP refer to different releases and different points in that schedule. PokéBeach’s August 20 report is useful historical context, not a current release calendar.

These are digital cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket, the iOS and Android game, not a physical trading-card expansion. Pokémon’s official game page says players can open two booster packs each day at no cost, and describes Pocket as free-to-start with optional in-game purchases. It also notes that the game includes cards exclusive to Pocket. Those general game details do not confirm how the upcoming cards will be distributed. Pokémon TCG Pocket’s official site has the game’s platform and access information.
