Yes. Far Cry New Dawn received a 60 FPS update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it was live by February 4, 2025. The update applies to the existing game; the cited reports do not establish separate native PS5 or Xbox Series editions.
Which consoles get the 60 FPS update?
Both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are included, according to Ubisoft Support’s announcement quoted by Pure Xbox on February 1, 2025. Ubisoft Support clarified that the Xbox FPS Boost change applied only to Xbox, while PS5 players were also getting the 60 FPS update.

Pure Xbox reported that the update was live on February 4, 2025. The reports describe a performance update for the existing game, not a separately released current-generation edition.

What resolution does it run at?
Pure Xbox’s February 4, 2025 report described gameplay footage as apparently showing 4K at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X and 1080p at 60 FPS on Xbox Series S. The Series X description was tentative, and these are media-reported observations—not an official Ubisoft resolution specification.
The cited coverage does not provide a measured PS5 resolution, an official resolution table, or an independent frame-time analysis. The 60 FPS figure is the update’s advertised target.

Is it a separate PS5 or Xbox Series game?
The cited reports establish an update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but do not confirm separate native PS5 or Xbox Series versions. They also do not establish that you need a new console, display, or accessory to benefit from the reported update.

Far Cry New Dawn’s update is distinct from other 60 FPS patches in the franchise. Ubisoft documented a separate patch for Far Cry 5 in 2023; that predecessor’s update does not establish New Dawn’s resolution or technical specifications. Ubisoft’s January 2026 announcement about Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal concerns different games.
