Fortnite’s verified channel published it on February 18, 2025, ahead of the season’s February 21 launch. LAWLESS ended May 2, 2025, Eastern Time, so its Battle Pass and season-specific items are historical rather than currently available rewards.
What is the Fortnite LAWLESS trailer?
It is the official cinematic gameplay trailer for Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 2, titled LAWLESS. The official listing calls it a cinematic gameplay trailer, while its description frames it as the season launch trailer. Epic’s developer documentation explains that “Every season includes a video that features the lore associated with the new season.” That makes the trailer a promotional story-and-gameplay asset, not proof that every scene or item shown is presently playable.

When did LAWLESS start and end?
LAWLESS launched on February 21, 2025. Epic’s season article gives May 2, 2025 Eastern Time as its scheduled end. The trailer appeared three days before launch, on February 18, 2025.

What is the trailer’s story and theme?
The season’s hook is a crime-and-heist fantasy focused on taking on Fletcher Kane. The official video description invites players to rob his banks, pull off a train heist, and make an explosive getaway. Epic’s season overview elaborates on the targets: bank raids, armored transports, and Kane’s armored train.
The season article identifies four notable locations tied to the setting: Crime City, Outlaw Oasis, Shiny Shafts, and Lonewolf Lair. Together, the targets and locations give LAWLESS its outlaw caper identity rather than a conventional battle-focused season premise.

What gameplay features did Chapter 6 Season 2 introduce?
Gold Rush and Black Markets
Gold-infused water and Gold Veins granted Gold Rush. Players could spend Gold Bars and Dill Bits at Black Markets on Mythic and Legendary items and Boons. Epic described five Boons for the season, with effects involving revealed eliminations, Gold Rush, movement, ammunition, or finding extra Bars.
Breaking into the train vault
Epic said Thermite was the only way to crack a vault on the armored train. Damaging vault weak points could speed up detonation, and the Plasma Burst Laser was identified as useful against those weak points. The Rocket Drill was announced for a later v34.10 update, rather than as part of the initial launch feature set.

Weapons and utility
Epic’s season article also listed the Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, Falcon Eye Sniper, Outlaw Shotgun, Pump & Dump, Port-A-Cover, Pulse Scanner, Med-Mist Grenade, and Gold Splash. These are features documented for the 2025 season; the list does not establish what is in Fortnite’s current loot pool.
Which characters, music, and collaborations were featured?
The trailer description names Big Dill’s newest single, “Runamok,” as the track featured in the season launch trailer. Epic called the Tasty Bois Big Dill and The Brat, and described “Runamok” as a Jam Track available in the LAWLESS Battle Pass.

Epic also introduced Sub-Zero as a recruitable character, with a Kombat Kit, and promoted Cowboy Bebop quests and cosmetics, including Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine outfits. Epic’s season article later noted that the Cowboy Bebop items and quests were moved earlier than initially announced.

Epic listed outfits for Cassidy Quinn, Joss, Fletcher Kane, Valentina, Big Dill, Keisha Cross, and Sub-Zero among the pass rewards. Its 2025 season article said the pass included free and premium rewards; at that time, the premium track cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was included with Fortnite Crew. Progression was tied to the season’s May 2, 2025 end date, so these terms describe the past season and do not imply the pass can still be purchased or completed.
