Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 was officially called LAWLESS, and its central setting was Crime City. The season launched on February 21, 2025, and ended on May 2, 2025, Eastern Time, so it is no longer playable as a current season.
What was Crime City in Fortnite?
Crime City was the season’s urban hub, built around a crime-and-heist theme. Epic Games described it as a setting for corrupt characters and named the Hostile Hotel, Wise Guys Bookstore, and Launder Mat as locations within the city. The official announcement opened with the promotional line “In Crime City, the hustle never stops.”
Crime City was one of four featured locations. The other points of interest offered distinct settings, rather than a published ranking of which was best to land at:
| Location | Season setting |
|---|---|
| Crime City | Urban heist atmosphere and city locations |
| Outlaw Oasis | Luxury spa and resort |
| Shiny Shafts | Fletcher Kane’s mining operation, with above- and below-ground areas |
| Lonewolf Lair | Kane’s mansion hideout |
How did the heist gameplay work?
LAWLESS framed matches around robbing Fletcher Kane’s banks, armored transports, and armored train. Vaults required Thermite to open; damaging their weak points could speed the detonation. To reach the train’s vault car, players first had to destroy the train’s turrets, then use Thermite.

Black Markets gave players a way to spend loot gathered during a match. They offered Mythic and Legendary items as well as Boons, with purchases made using Dill Bits or Gold Bars. Dill Bits were typically found in vaults and were specific to the match: they did not carry over into another match. The five named Boons were Vulture, Gold Rush, Adrenaline Rush, Gold Ammo, and Greed.
What else did the season announce?
Epic’s launch announcement listed a range of weapons and tools: Plasma Burst Laser, Rocket Drill, Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, Falcon Eye Sniper, Outlaw Shotgun, Pump & Dump, The Kneecapper, Port-A-Cover, Pulse Scanner, Med-Mist Grenade, and Gold Splash. The announcement said some items were scheduled for update v34.10, so the full list should be understood as season-announced content, not a claim that every item was available at launch.
