For Honor players were still reporting missing or very quiet match audio in 2026, but the official sources reviewed do not announce an ETA for a fix to that broader problem. Ubisoft’s update index lists version 2.70.1, dated September 10, 2026; its February 2026 notes describe a separate, narrow fix for Juren’s combat-emote sound effects. They do not confirm that match-audio loss was resolved. The phrase “after v2.35.1” is the title’s framing, not a verified cause or start date.
What players are reporting
Anecdotal 2026 reports describe match audio becoming absent or very quiet. Breach appears repeatedly in those reports, and some players say sound returns after a match. A separate July 2026 report mentions PS5. These posts do not establish how widespread the issue is or its status across platforms. A Breach report and a separate player discussion are anecdotal, not measured incident data.

The symptoms may not share a cause. In a September 2025 Steam Player Support thread, a PC player described audio cutting out in Dominion or while sharing a screen through Discord. That report included system-wide silence, unlike reports limited to game audio. The Steam discussion does not establish that the 2025 PC case and 2026 match reports are related.
What Ubisoft has—and has not—confirmed
Ubisoft’s For Honor update index lists patch 2.70.1 dated September 10, 2026. Version 2.35.1 is therefore not the latest version shown there, but the later version listing alone does not establish when the reported audio symptoms began or whether any update caused them.

Ubisoft’s February 2026 patch notes mention an audio fix for Juren’s combat-emote sound effects continuing after interruption. This is a specific emote-sound issue, not confirmation that broader match audio loss was fixed. The official pages cited here do not provide an ETA for a fix to the broader reports.

Start by distinguishing game-only audio loss from a wider Windows audio outage. Note the mode, timing, and whether you were sharing a screen on Discord. These details help separate the symptom you are experiencing; the available reports do not identify a single root cause.
Rank #2
- In addition to multiplayer the game features a deep single player campaign in which players guide the storyline of multiple Tier 1 operators
- Elite Special Forces combat set across the rugged Afghanistan landscape, introducing players to the role of the Tier 1 Operators in the US military
- Developed by the world-class team at DICE (makers of Battlefield Bad Company 2)
- The game supports up to 24 players in online multiplayer modes
- Check whether other Windows audio still works. If all sound stops, record that separately from a For Honor-only dropout.
- Verify For Honor’s voice chat output device. In the game’s audio settings, check “voice chat output” and select the headphones or speakers you intend to use rather than leaving it on default. One PC player in the Steam thread said this restored audio in that individual case; it is not a confirmed general fix.
- Verify the game files through Steam. Ubisoft’s developer guidance in the support discussion suggested checking game-file integrity.
- Try a compatible Windows audio format. Ubisoft developer Ubi-Vinci advised setting the Windows audio format to 16-bit / 44.1 kHz (CD quality), rather than a high sample-rate setting. This is troubleshooting advice for one PC report, not proof of a cause.
- Temporarily disable multichannel or virtual-surround software. The same developer suggested testing without it. Re-enable it afterward if it makes no difference.
If the problem continues, report whether it affects only For Honor or all system audio, along with the mode and trigger. The support thread’s recommendations concern a PC case; they do not establish a remedy for every platform or for the reported Breach symptoms.
