Forge of Empires tournaments are weekly, era-specific PvP competitions. To take part in a given era’s tournament, conquer its tower province on the Campaign Map and fight with a unit from that tower’s age. Qualifying wins and Campaign Map conquests contribute to your rank; placement rewards are Medals, with amounts varying by era and position.

How do Forge of Empires tournaments work?

InnoGames describes tournaments as a way to test military strength against neighbors and earn Medals. Each era has its own tournament. They typically run from Monday morning to Sunday evening, and an action counts only if it takes place while the tournament is open. The schedule and mechanics are described in the official Forge of Empires tournament support article; check the live page in case the schedule changes.

How do I qualify for a tournament for my age?

  1. Conquer the tower province. On the Campaign Map, take the province containing the tower for the era you want to enter.
  2. Use a unit from that era. Your army must include military units of the tower’s age. The tournament credit for a fight is determined by the highest-age unit you use, not by the majority age of your army. In InnoGames’ example, seven Iron Age units plus one Early Middle Ages unit credit the fight to the Early Middle Ages tournament.
  3. Check the tournament status. Event History shows conquered towers and the time remaining in their tournaments.

Which activities count toward tournament rank?

InnoGames lists these actions as contributing to rank when they happen during the tournament:

  • Defeating neighbors
  • Winning fights in Guild vs Guild
  • Conquering Campaign Map sectors
  • Winning Guild Expedition fights
  • Winning Guild Battlegrounds fights
  • Winning PvP Arena fights

The support article does not specify a scoring formula or say that each activity awards the same number of points, so these activities should not be treated as equivalent in rank value.

What do tournament placements reward?

Placement rewards are Medals, and the amount depends on both era and rank. InnoGames’ undated reward table lists 10 Medals for first place in the Bronze Age and 9,470 Medals for first place in the Space Age Asteroid Belt. Those examples are specific to those era-and-placement cells, not universal tournament rewards. For another era or placement, use the corresponding entry in the official tournament reward table. Early-era rows list places 1–5; later eras include additional placements.

What else are Medals used for?

Medals are a broader in-game resource, not just a tournament prize. InnoGames lists these uses and other acquisition routes in its Medals help article.
