What do reviews say about Forspoken?
Metacritic’s PS5 critic page displayed a score of 64/100, labeled “Mixed or Average,” from 131 critic reviews when retrieved in 2026. Its displayed breakdown was 26% positive, 62% mixed, and 13% negative. These are changeable aggregator figures, not a permanent verdict; the percentages may not total exactly 100 because of rounding.
The excerpts on the page point to the divide behind that snapshot. Some reviewers praised the magic combat as inventive and enjoyable and found exploration satisfying. Others criticized the dialogue, the appeal of the characters, or repetitive gameplay. Those excerpts indicate contrasting reactions, not how often each view appears across every review.

Is Forspoken worth playing?
The review themes suggest a straightforward decision: consider it if magical action and movement through an open world are the main draw; be more cautious if dialogue, character writing, and variety from one stretch of play to the next are priorities. The critic score alone cannot tell you which side of that trade-off will matter more to you.
Steam provides a separate, audience-based signal: when retrieved in 2026, 68% of 3,186 English-language user reviews were positive. That is Steam user sentiment, not a critic score, and the percentage and review count can change.
