Its main release notes focus on the Fortnite ecosystem—including Creative, UEFN and community tools—rather than presenting a broad Battle Royale balance update. Separate posts cover Fortnite Festival and Save the World, so the changes below are grouped by mode and creator surface.
Fortnite ecosystem, Creative and UEFN changes
Epic’s v39.50 ecosystem release notes introduce community-management options, experimental Verse UI input actions, animation options for devices, and new Fore Fields galleries and prefabs. They also include fixes spanning Fortnite content and creator workflows.

Community roles and bans
Community owners can assign roles to trusted team members and issue temporary or permanent bans. According to Epic, a banned user cannot post or reply in that community.
Experimental Verse UI input actions
Verse buttons can be associated with actions such as Craft, Drop and Sort through TriggeringInputAction. The associated mapping context must be activated using the Verse Input API, and the actions respond only while UI mode is active.

This functionality is experimental. Epic warns that the added UI module may cause name ambiguity in existing projects. Its suggested resolution is to rename the module and update the corresponding using directive.
Device animation and Fore Fields assets
Sequencer can animate the mannequin portions of Player Reference and Character devices in cinematic sequences. The Chair device adds a Custom Sit Animation option. The update also adds Fore Fields wall, floor, roof, prop and foundation galleries, as well as a golf range and club house.

Selected ecosystem and editor fixes
Epic’s notes cover fixes across ecosystem content, UEFN, Scene Graph and Unreal Revision Control. Examples include:
- Some placed chests not spawning, a Ballistic Shield issue that allowed firing through walls, and an incorrect visual for a suppressed sniper.
- UEFN recompilation or validation crashes, SetFocus behavior, duplicate object placement in the viewport, and landscape cook crashes involving invalid target layers.
- Creative quick-bar behavior when connecting a controller on mobile, a Scene Graph crash when saving a nested prefab, and a rare check-in crash tied to invalid file history.
These are selected examples, not a complete retelling of every fix in Epic’s release notes.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

Save the World fixes and known issues
The separate Save the World update notes list the removal of an obsolete Research tab and fixes for several gameplay and presentation issues:
- D-pad inputs not working after returning from missions.
- Muzzle effects for Copper Hammercrush, Deadeye and Hunter-Killer.
- Stretched exclamation marks above Storm Shield Amplifiers on some devices.
- The Champion’s Blade-Splitter Emote.
The post also lists known issues, including player-built structure animations, purchasing multiple Armory Slots, Ancient’s Launcher timing, stale team-notification text, Simple Edit display behavior, a directional jump pad issue on Xbox One, a Commander Buckle+ perk issue, a crash scenario involving Ohm’s Perch Back Bling, and an incorrect arm-sweep animation. Those are issues identified in that post, not confirmation that they remain unresolved today.

Release-day operational updates
In a release-day staff thread, Epic said it had temporarily reverted Creative Islands to the previous HUD for mobile touch input to restore Quickbar functionality. Staff also said an investigation into reports of failed validation jobs was complete and that they were no longer seeing further reports. These are historical launch-day updates, not statements about current status; see the release-day thread.
