Release date and platforms
Bandai Namco announced the remaster on September 18, 2024, with a planned January 10, 2025 release. The publisher confirmed its worldwide release on that date across all four announced platforms.

These are the claims in the publisher and platform-holder listings, not a guarantee that every platform has feature parity. Bandai Namco’s September 18, 2024 announcement described 4K resolution, upgraded textures, and 60fps for current-generation platforms; its launch notice specifies PlayStation and PC for the performance claims. The Nintendo US listing confirms the Switch version but does not state those same specifications.
What the remaster changes
The remaster updates presentation and revises parts of the game’s systems without changing the story. Bandai Namco identifies these changes:

Story and setting
The story remains the same as in the original PlayStation Vita game. Humanity lives in Panopticons, vast prison societies where people are born with fictional sentences of one million years. Prisoners called Sinners are sent on dangerous missions; completing them helps reduce their sentences while Panopticons compete over scarce resources. The million-year sentence is part of the game’s premise, not a real-world statistic.

How multiplayer is described
The official descriptions give different player counts for different contexts, so they should not be collapsed into one universal party-size claim. Bandai Namco classifies the game as an action RPG and multiplayer game. Its official site lists one to eight players and describes co-op with up to seven other players. The launch announcement, meanwhile, describes missions with up to four Sinners, who can be AI-controlled NPCs or online players.
Nintendo’s US listing also identifies supported play modes for the Switch edition. Platform-specific listing details are the safest guide to which modes are available on a particular version.

Editions and additional content
Bandai Namco lists a Contribution Edition that includes the base game, the Contribution Boost Pack, and a digital art book. Nintendo’s US store listing separately lists the Switch edition and a Contribution Boost Pack DLC. Those listings establish the named contents, but not the current availability or terms of any particular retailer offer.
