Where to get Vice City for PC
For an authorized digital copy, use the Rockstar Games Store listing for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition or the Steam listing for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition. Rockstar describes the trilogy as containing GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Steam’s listing is for Vice City’s Definitive Edition on its own.

The sources establish paid storefront editions, not an authorized free PC download. Avoid treating torrents, unofficial archives, or sites offering an executable as publisher-approved: the official sources reviewed do not identify those as authorized copies.
Original Vice City or Definitive Edition?
These names refer to different releases. The currently identified official PC listings are for Vice City – The Definitive Edition and the trilogy collection containing that edition. They do not establish that buying the trilogy also grants a separate copy of the classic original PC release.

Rockstar describes the Definitive Edition as a remastered release with updated lighting and environmental upgrades, higher-resolution textures, increased draw distances, and GTA V-style controls and targeting. Check each store page for the edition and current availability before purchasing.
Windows 11 compatibility: what the listings confirm
Rockstar’s PC requirements page for Vice City – The Definitive Edition, last updated May 1, 2024, lists Windows 10 64-bit. Steam also lists Windows 10. Neither source explicitly confirms Windows 11 support, but that omission is not proof that the game will fail to run on Windows 11; the sources do not provide a Windows 11 test result.

Rockstar’s dated requirements page gives the following minimum and recommended specifications for Vice City – The Definitive Edition:

These are Rockstar’s published requirements, not a benchmark or a guarantee for every Windows 11 system. Rockstar cautions that requirements can change as downloadable content and programming change, and that some mobile chipsets, integrated graphics, and AGP graphics cards may be incompatible. Check the current support page for updates before installing.

Account, internet, and launcher requirements
Rockstar says installation and online play require a Rockstar Games account and internet access for activation and periodic entitlement verification. The requirements page also specifies the Rockstar platform and supporting software, and describes single-use serial registration and account restrictions. Review the current store and support details for the edition you choose, since requirements and availability can change.
