The official Xbox Store still has a listing for the Forza Horizon 4 demo, but the listing alone does not confirm that a new Windows download is available in every region or for every account. Can you still download the Forza Horizon 4 demo on Windows?
Availability for a new download is not established universally. The Xbox Store page is an official listing for the demo and names PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, but it does not explain regional or account-specific eligibility. The demo originally launched for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One on September 12, 2018. Xbox Wire said it was then available worldwide and supported Xbox Play Anywhere. That announcement describes launch availability, not whether downloads work everywhere today: Xbox Wire’s demo announcement.
What the demo listing covers
The Xbox Store identifies Playground Games as developer and Microsoft Studios as publisher. It lists PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and advertises Xbox Play Anywhere. The page also describes features such as single-player, 4K Ultra HD, and HDR10. These are listing details, not confirmation that every feature or platform is currently accessible to every account. Does the full game’s delisting affect the demo?
Playground Games announced that the full Forza Horizon 4 game and its additional content would be delisted from the Microsoft Store and Steam on December 15, 2024, citing licensing and partner agreements. The announcement says existing owners of the full game can continue downloading and playing it. It does not specifically guarantee that new demo downloads remain available. The same announcement says DLC began leaving stores on June 25, 2024. The final Festival Playlist series, Series 77, ended August 22, 2024; afterward, the playlist screen was no longer accessible apart from playlist history, while seasonal achievements remained unlockable. Those changes concern the full game, not the Windows demo.

Steam Support publishes PC requirements for the full game, not a separate requirements sheet for the demo. If you cannot get the demo
- Open the Xbox Store listing for your region and check it while signed in to the account you intend to use.
- If the store does not offer the demo, the available evidence does not establish another current Windows download route. The historical worldwide launch announcement cannot confirm present access.
- If you want the full game instead, distinguish it from the demo: digital sales ended with the December 15, 2024 delisting, while Playground Games said existing digital owners could keep downloading and playing.
