The recipe database lists it at a Gear Workbench, using one Northern Pike plus either 24 Wood or 10 Ice Cubes; which recipe appears can depend on your scenario and server settings. A 2024 official balance update also describes freeze and Frost Vortex effects, but those values are patch-specific.
What Frozen Northern Pike is
NetEase introduced the Northern Pike in an April 20, 2023 developer announcement about fishing, noting that freezing one provides a temporary close-range weapon boost. Later official balance notes refer to the weapon as “Frozen Northern Pike/Frozen Tilapia,” and the recipe database also jokes about frozen tilapia. The sources establish both names but do not explain their localization history.
NetEase’s announcement described the frozen fish as having “increased damage and a chance to inflict a slowdown effect on enemies.” That is historical developer copy, not a guarantee of the weapon’s current stats. Read the April 20, 2023 announcement.
How to get the blueprint
A Game8 guide updated January 21, 2025 reports two blueprint routes: buying it from Margerie for 10 Northern Pikes, or obtaining it through the Wish Machine. Treat these as guide-reported options rather than universal current routes: recipe and availability options can differ by scenario and server settings, and the guide may not reflect later changes.

How to craft Frozen Northern Pike
The Once Human Database lists a Gear Workbench as the crafting station and gives two alternative ingredient sets. It does not confirm the resulting quantity.

What to verify if you cannot get it
- Confirm that the Frozen Northern Pike recipe or blueprint is available in your current scenario and server configuration.
- Look for the blueprint route reported by the guide—Margerie or the Wish Machine—but do not assume both are active in every scenario.
- At the Gear Workbench, check whether your recipe uses Wood or Ice Cubes; the database lists those as alternatives, not required ingredients together.
